Keanu Reeves Smiled When Fans Accidentally Created a Legend
The famous "Sad Keanu" image became one of the internet's earliest viral celebrity memes. A candid photo of Keanu Reeves eating lunch alone quickly inspired thousands of jokes, captions, and fictional stories about his life. Despite the online frenzy, there was never evidence that the photo captured any dramatic moment it was simply a snapshot taken out of context. Reeves later appeared to take the meme in stride, and it eventually evolved into a surprisingly affectionate part of internet culture. What began as a joke ended up making many people appreciate his quiet, relatable image.
