The Messengers Global

The Messengers Global The Messengers Global tells stories of Not for Profits and helps everyday people do good stuff.

Together we share a passion to tell stories from around the globe of those committed to see positive, permanent change in the world. There are many working hard to make a difference, yet most remain unnoticed and lack the resources to share their message. This is where we come in.

The Messengers Global is collaborative and nomadic in nature, utilising photography, videography and words to put these people and their pursuits on the map.

Love looks like...this.⠀
-⠀
This month in the lead up to Valentines Day we’ve been showing you what love looks like to us over at The Messengers Global ❤️.⠀
-⠀
You might not understand the significance of this picture without the back story- so get those tissues ready!⠀
-⠀
This is our friend Geoff, we speak about him and the work that he does at a lot. We were able to join them and take all the kids from the local slum, where they serve, to swim at the pool. ⠀
-⠀
This young man in Geoff’s arms is in his 20’s and is severely disabled. I met him back in 2015 as he lay on the floor of his small home. The room smelt like faeces and it was where he had spent most of his life .⠀
-⠀
In parts of Indonesia there just isn’t the same amount of education and awareness around disability care as there is here. His parents truly believed their son was a vegetable. Incapable of movement, communication or thought. They couldn’t believe it when they found out they were wrong .⠀
-⠀
Many children in this particular slum are born functioning normally, yet over time their bodies begin to deteriorate. No one knows why. But Geoff, the team at AK and many other volunteers have been doing all they can to provide these families with support .⠀
- ⠀
This was their first swim... I think the look in Geoff’s eyes says it all. This is what love looks like .⠀
-⠀

Love looks like... visiting an old friend .⠀
-⠀
We took this guys photo back in 2015 in a slum in Bali. Three years on we had the privilege of sitting with him again .⠀
-⠀
Since we saw him last, a stroke has made it difficult for him to use various parts of his body. The doctor just told him to go home and wait to die... with no ability to provide for his family, there wasn’t much hope left .⠀
-⠀
Our friends at , through Arms of Love Foundation Indonesia were able to partner with some amazing physios and have given him exercises to do each day to help restore movement .⠀
-⠀
They check up on him every week, and his smile says it all ☀️ To us, this is what love looks like. ⠀

Love looks like... education and a hope for the future .
-
It’s almost Valentines Day and this month we want to show you what love looks like to us over at The Messengers Global ❤️
-
This is Erma. One of the most sacrificial, loving people on the planet. Her and her husband Geoff run through . We talk about them all the time because we’re just crazy about the work they do in the slums of Bali .
-
This is Erma in her element, teaching young minds, ensuring they have equal opportunities and know they are valued and loved. To us, this is what love looks like .

This month is Human Trafficking Awareness Month .
-
But for so many women who have finally been rescued from s*x trafficking, they still face a whole series of challenges .
-
Many won’t be accepted back into their community after they’ve been trafficked. They struggle to find work and are highly vulnerable to being re- trafficked.
-
In 2015 we had the privilege of spending time with those making a difference for s*x trafficking survivors in India .
-
The provides job training and education to restore and reintegrate survivors back into their community .
-
Check out to see how you can get involved .

It’s Human Trafficking awareness month & at the Messengers Global we seriously believe the first step to a sweeter society is awareness .
-
I’ve always had a passion to tell stories that shone light on injustice around the world and moved people enough to act .
-
In India, we’ve met with women who had been rescued from human trafficking. The scars on their wrists from trying to take their own life in an attempt to escape their reality, were still incomparable to the emotional scars and trauma .
-
In Australia, we’ve sat with women who are here illegally, working in the s*x industry, mistreated, underpaid and not allowed to go home... trafficking exists not just overseas, but in our own backyard .
-
It’s time we tell their stories and move the hearts and minds of people who are unknowingly feeding into the industry. Whilst many people thing strip clubs, brothels and po*******hy may be harmless, their reinforce this notion that people can be treated as commodities .
-
Join us and our beautiful friend Em over at this month. Because saying yes to a sweeter society means saying no to turning a blind eye .

Welcome to C3 New Life .
-
Over Christmas, we captured some precious moments at a Christmas service for Iraqi and Syrian refugees .
-
Many people who attend this church service fled from places like Mosul and Aleppo. Some have witnessed unspeakable horrors .
-
One family said to us, they were finally forced to flee when two car bombs were driven into and detonated in their church- which was also doubling as their home .
-
For those who have found refuge in our city of Sydney, has become a beacon of light and hope .
-
These people hold a special place in our hearts and the team who serve them are some of the most selfless humans we’ve ever met .
-
We will be visiting every couple of months. Who wants to join us? 🎉 .

Hello new friends 👋🏼 and welcome to 2019!
-
So often when we talk to people about the work we do they say “you guys are always doing good stuff”. But the thing is, anyone can do the work we do! Because loving people is EASY. It doesn’t require a skill, a degree, a social status, a position or title. Loving people is free. So this year we’re redefining The Messengers Global .
-
In 2019 we will be working with not-for-profits to tell their story 🌎 AND helping everyday people do ‘good stuff’.
-
The Messengers Global isn’t us, it’s a community. It’s YOU making a difference in your local community.
We hope you guys come along for the ride .
