Fun fact: The Great Market Hall is often called Budapest’s ‘cathedral of food’ because its soaring steel interior looks more like a grand train station or church than a traditional market.

The colorful roof is world-famous. Since you’re already in Budapest, try looking up at the roof from outside before going in. many visitors focus on the food and completely miss one of the city’s most beautiful examples of 19th-century architecture.🇭🇺

The little figure in this photo is Emperor Franz Joseph I relaxing in a hammock. It is one of the hidden miniature sculptures created by Hungarian-Ukrainian artist Mihály Kolodko on Budapest’s Liberty Bridge.

Many visitors walk past it without noticing because it’s only a few centimeters tall and tucked into the bridge’s structure.

Find and visit him when you pass by the bridge. 🇭🇺
