Photography wasn’t always the plan. But here’s how I ended up here, four years ago.
In 2020, I came back to Croatia after living in the US for over ten years. I knew that when I returned, I didn’t want to just jump into any job out of necessity. I wanted to give myself the chance to figure out what I truly wanted to do. Luckily, we had some savings that gave us the space to slow down and really explore what felt right.
The idea of photography came to me kind of spontaneously, but looking back, it actually made a lot of sense. As a teenager, I was always the one carrying around a little digital camera. I would take photos of my friends every time we went out, and because of that, we now have so many memories frozen in time. I never thought much of it back then, it was just something I loved doing.
So in 2020 one random day, I decided to buy a DSLR. I didn’t have a big plan. I just wanted to take photos of nature, flowers, and the small everyday things that caught my attention. As I started experimenting, I learned how to use the camera in manual mode, and it felt like unlocking a whole new world. Eventually, I began photographing my family too, just for fun. That’s when I realized how much I loved capturing emotion and the connection between people.
From there, it slowly started to grow. I began taking photos of friends and extended family, and then little by little, others started reaching out. Somehow, it turned into this beautiful business that still surprises me sometimes. I get to do something I love and call it my job. And for that, I’m incredibly grateful. 🙏❤️
