本會乃一非牟利、非政治性及非宗教性之學會。希望透過舉辦一連串的學會活動，提升所有香港公開大學學生對攝影的認識和興趣，增加會員對香港公開大學攝影學會的歸屬感，亦提供一個互相交流攝影心得的平台，從而提升攝影技術。
