Here’s the story behind these images. It was a beautiful moment after a long day in a very special place in southern Crete. On the way back in the car, I saw it—a breathtaking sunset and a few solitary trees standing in the middle of the fields. The wind was strong, over 6-7 Bft, but I knew I had to capture this scene. I told my friend to stop the car, hopped out, attached my telephoto lens to my camera, and started shooting like a madman. 👀
This moment took place back in 2021, and here’s the truth: I have always loved these images and the atmosphere they evoke. Yet, each time over the years that I sat down to edit them, I could never decide what the “perfect” edit should be for such an extraordinary moment and place. So, I kept setting them aside for another day.
Fast forward to late 2024, almost 2025, and I finally found the passion and determination to finish editing them and share some with you. I hope they convey the magic I felt that day. 🥹
