To the people of Elmina…

So on Thursday afternoon, as a family, we decided to visit the beach to swim and have some fun time together at the beach behind the Elmina Castle.

Unfortunately for me I hurt my foot.
I was playing with my nephew when the waves hit me, moving me from my initial spot with my foot landing in a pile of rocks and dislocated my toe.

I noticed when entering into the sea though:- after stepping on some of the rocks so I moved to a side I thought was safe.

Guys! Not knowing there are rocks that have been dragged down to the sea by the waves and have created sections of holes will lots of small rocks piled up in them and they are scattered all over the shores and into the sea.

These rocks are the remains of the Stockpile they created on the beach for reclamation as part of the Elmina fishing harbor project.

Later, I saw others who came to swim complaining and having difficulties to coop as well. Most of the rocks have sharp edges and stepping on them even hurts. Imagine hitting your head or back on them. Playing football or running even seems risky at the moment.

My humble Request;
In case we find ourselves there, whatever reason it may be, kindly try your best to move at least 10 rocks from the sea and the shores if you can. I took my time off and with the help of my other niece move a pile of them from the sea and the shore but it wasn’t enough cos it will take a collective effort and time from a lot of people to make a difference.

I will try to team up with anyone willing to volunteer to support this action so we can have a healthy beach for ourselves. We can locate a spot around where we can restock them for safety or for othe purposes.
