ABOUT THE AUTHOR ….I published a book Fam!
Edna Aninga is an Artist, Journalist, Designer, Humanitarian, and the CEO of The Art Village. As a multi- gifted young woman, she uses her talents in business and as a means to serve humanity.
Edna obtained a degree in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2016. While in school, she managed her first business, The Aninga Baskets, selling beautiful handwoven baskets made in Bolgatanga.
After graduation, Edna returned to her hometown, Bolgatanga, for her mandatory one-year National Service to teach in a rural school in the Upper East region. During this time, she assisted the children both academically and with their basic needs.
Choosing to stay in Bolgatanga after her service, Edna focused on growing her business and honing her artistic talents with the help of her father, also an Artist. Discovering her father's old paintings deepened her love for
art, encouraging her to pursue it as a full-time business.
In February 2017, Edna launched her clothing line, AZU Collections, featuring unisex hand-painted wear inspired by her passion for art and fashion. That same year, she won the World Remit and Miss GH UK Foundation award for Promising Young Female Entrepreneur, recognizing her use of art to educate society, especially the girl child.
In 2018, she received the MOBEK Business Excellence Award for Entrepreneur of the Year in Bolgatanga. For five years, Edna worked with women and girls in skills training, education, and mentorship while running her business. In 2021, she moved to Accra.
Besides creating and selling art, Edna has recently ventured into design-decorating offices, homes, schools, and restaurants. When not painting, she enjoys photographing nature and people or writing- fiction, comedy or personal experiences.
At age 11, Edna wrote her first handwritten storybook with illustrations. She has since written many children's books awaiting publication. Known for her inspirational and humorous write-ups on social media, Edna's Christian faith plays a key role in her life, and she uses any medium available to showcase her beliefs.
In 2021, Edna joined the Ghana Police Service. She is also pursuing a Master's Program in Gender, Peace, and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre.
This book is officially her first published work and it is just another medium for Edna to express her candid opinions on life, integrating the God factor, and earning her an Author's title.
