Reading to children is not just about books, it’s about planting seeds of peace, kindness, and understanding in their hearts. Through stories, children learn empathy, respect, and the power of words over violence.
Join me today at 5:00pm on Sweet Melodies 94.3 fm as we explore the importance of reading to children and how it shapes a more peaceful generation. Don’t miss this inspiring conversation for parents, teachers, and every community member who believes in raising peacemakers.

BE AN AMBASSADOR OF PEACE 🕊️ ✌️ 🇬🇭❤️
————————————————————————
As Ghanaians, we stand at a pivotal moment in our nation’s democratic journey. Tomorrow, we will exercise one of our most cherished rights—the power to vote and shape the future of our beloved country. This moment is not just about choosing a leader; it is about affirming the values that bind us as one people, one nation, and one destiny.

Democracy thrives where peace reigns. It is a collective responsibility to ensure that peace is not just a word but a way of life throughout this electoral process. Before you cast your vote, reflect on the power you hold—not just as a voter but as a peace ambassador. Let us approach the polling stations with respect, dignity, and patience.

During the voting process, let us remember that every citizen has an equal right to express their choice freely and without intimidation. Disputes, disagreements, and differences are natural in a democracy, but violence has no place in resolving them.

After the votes are cast and counted, let us remain calm and allow the electoral commission to do its work. Victory or defeat is but a moment in our shared democratic journey; what matters most is the unity and progress of Ghana.

To our leaders and political actors, we urge you to put Ghana first. Your words and actions set the tone for millions. Let your conduct inspire peace, and let your example foster trust in our institutions.

Fellow Ghanaians, peace is not a gift we wait to receive—it is a commitment we must actively uphold. Let us go to the polls tomorrow with the resolve to protect our democracy, safeguard our peace, and honor our duty to Ghana.

Together, we can ensure that this election strengthens our democracy and leaves a legacy of peace for generations to come.

God Bless you all. God bless our nation Ghana.

THE ART OF LIFE BOOK LAUGH - 24th August 2024 @ Full Option Lounge-Accra ❤️

Question - “What Inspired You to Write This Book?”.
——————————————————————-

Turning 30 struck me like a wrecking ball. Wasn’t it just yesterday that I celebrated my silver jubilee? How could time fly so quickly? I had so many dreams to accomplish by 25, and now, almost 30, I felt the pressure to catch up. I needed to publish a book, sort out my finances, grow my business, meet new people, and maybe fall in love—all before hitting this milestone. Desperately, I wished I could rewind time, but reality demanded action.

Faced with two choices—either start working towards my goals now or blame time for its swift passage—I chose the former and picked up my pen. Should I write about my grandmother’s classical animal stories, finish my half-written children’s books, complete my romantic novel, or the comic script? The anxiety of deciding kept me restless, so I turned to friends who had already crossed this age threshold. Their mixed feedback made me realize that anxiety about age isn’t unique to me. It’s a universal experience, affecting people at various stages of life.

Amidst this, I found clarity and decided to share my thoughts with the world. I realized that anxieties stem from unmet goals, and for me, it was about not having published a book. Reflecting on my achievements, I chose gratitude over anxiety. I decided to look forward to 30 with joy, realizing that I had much to be grateful for: health, family , friends, love, and numerous accomplishments. My perspective shifted positively, and I started planning to publish a book, even if it was just about “how to boil water.”

With newfound positivity, my mind cleared, and the purpose of my book became evident. I wanted to share my journey and inspire others. Titled “The Art of Life,” the book draws parallels between life’s process and creating art, emphasizing that every phase, rough or smooth, is part of a grand masterpiece crafted by God.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR……I Published a Book Fam. ❤️✍️
Edna Aninga is an Artist, Journalist, Designer, Humanitarian, and the CEO of The Art Village. As a multi- gifted young woman, she uses her talents in business and as a means to serve humanity.
Edna obtained a degree in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2016. While in school, she managed her first business, The Aninga Baskets, selling beautiful handwoven baskets made in Bolgatanga.

After graduation, Edna returned to her hometown, Bolgatanga, for her mandatory one-year National Service to teach in a rural school in the Upper East region. During this time, she assisted the children both academically and with their basic needs.
Choosing to stay in Bolgatanga after her service, Edna focused on growing her business and honing her artistic talents with the help of her father, also an Artist. Discovering her father’s old paintings deepened her love for art, encouraging her to pursue it as a full-time business.

In February 2017, Edna launched her clothing line, AZU Collections, featuring unisex hand-painted wear inspired by her passion for art and fashion. That same year, she won the World Remit and Miss GH UK Foundation award for Promising Young Female Entrepreneur, recognizing her use of art to educate society, especially the girl child.

In 2018, she received the MOBEK Business Excellence Award for Entrepreneur of the Year in Bolgatanga. For five years, Edna worked with women and girls in skills training, education, and mentorship while running her business.

Besides creating and selling art, Edna has recently ventured into design-decorating offices, homes, schools, and restaurants. When not painting, she enjoys photographing nature and people or writing- fiction, comedy or personal experiences.

At age 11, Edna wrote her first handwritten storybook with illustrations. She has since written many children's books awaiting publication. Known for her inspirational and humorous write-ups on social media, Edna's Christian faith plays a key role in her life, and she uses any medium available to showcase her beliefs.

In 2021, Edna joined the Ghana Police Service. She is also pursuing a Master's Program in Gender, Peace, and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre.
This book is officially her first published work and it is just another medium for Edna to express her candid opinions on life, integrating the God factor, and earning her an Author's title.
