“The Fisheye Chronicles: Meeting Kwame Nkrumah & Batman”

It was a humid Accra afternoon when the Ninja Turtles, the Dragon Queen, and I decided it was time to pay our respects to the great Osagyefo himself — Kwame Nkrumah. The mission? Discuss Ghana’s future energy policy and maybe grab kelewele on the way.

Raphael was driving — badly. The sewer van kept jerking like a trotro missing gears. Donatello was navigating with a map upside down, while Michelangelo insisted we stop for coconut water “for hydration, dude.” The Dragon Queen sat calmly, fanning herself with a plantain leaf, whispering to her dragons that Ghanaian heat was hotter than any fire they’d ever breathed.

Then — from the sky — swoosh!
Batman descended like a confused bat who took a wrong turn from Gotham. He landed on the Tema motorway toll booth, shouting, “Who called for a vigilante summit?”

Nkrumah was already waiting at Independence Square, arms folded, giving that timeless, patient stare of a man who had seen too much and still kept the vision alive. The Turtles bowed. The Dragon Queen curtsied. Batman tried to look serious but slipped on some roasted corn.

And me? I took the fisheye selfie — proof that history and madness had merged in one perfect Ghanaian afternoon.

Nkrumah just smiled and said,
“Ah, my children, even in chaos — Africa leads.”

*The Fufu Roundabout*
Written & Directed by Edgar Collingwood-Williams

In the heart of Accra, where tro-tros shout destinations like auctioneers and goats dodge taxis like pros, a mysterious monument rose overnight — a giant bowl of fufu in light soup smack dab in the middle of the High Street roundabout.

Nobody knew how it got there. Some said it was a government project gone rogue. Others blamed a jollof vs. fufu argument that escalated in Parliament. But one thing was clear: traffic had never been worse — or more delicious.

Drivers slowed down to take selfies. Auntie Mansa swore the aroma cured her arthritis. A hungry taxi driver named Kwame even jumped out of his moving car screaming, “Chale! Na this be the real national cathedral!”

One day, a confused tourist asked, “Is this art or lunch?”
A nearby hawker replied, “Both! But if you touch am, we go add you to the soup!”

Now, folks call it the Sacred Bowl of Traffic Jam. It's the only roundabout in the world where you yield… not to cars, but to the spirit of soup.
