It’s been a while..

New year’s day since my last decent hike so Sunday just gone, it was time to get the boots on. With me favourite walking adventurer with me, we set off from Wrexham at 3am. Bound for Cadair Idris.

We took the Minffordd path, which if you know, the steps are gruelling tired 😴 What a hike though, we got to the summit just as the sun come over the horizon, sat in my new favourite bothy for a coffee and took in the breathtaking scenes.

As far as photography goes, there is far more compositions then I immediately thought, the sun helped it especially as it lit up the front face of the peak. Overall I am over the moon with the photos I managed to get. Onto the next one 🥾 🚶

Sometimes you don’t need to hike, spend hours walking or sit in the freezing cold waiting for the sun to rise or set on you.

All three photos are taken right next to the car in lay by’s on some of our beautiful Welsh Roads through Eryri. 115 Miles were covered today, just me and my Lad. Weather wasn’t perfect all the way around but was nice to get out and blast some music!

Friendly reminder.. Nant Mill/ Bersham Waterfall isn’t just for summer..

These conditions are right up my street, dark, moody and bleak. The mist added to the atmosphere and I come away with some photos I’m proud of. Morale of the story.. if it looks like it’s too miserable.. still go out 📸

With all this snow I thought I would share my attempt from New Years Day at finding some snow..

Oh and I found some.. as well as ice, hail, 50 mph winds and a windchill of -18 ❄️ All joking aside, this was a very hard and demanding trek. The Glyders in them conditions are not to he taken lightly. Visibility at the 3 summits were pretty much nothing at all. Even as the sun come up nothing improved and clouds were still not moving. As i reached Llyn Idwal I managed to snap a few moody and miserable style photos of where I had been and a few of the valley.

I’m hoping towards this week the roads are clearer towards Eryri bit still snowey mountains so I can go back and take some more of my favourite place on earth!

No early morning walk this weekend so been looking through photos to give me inspiration for next weekend.. Nothing beats that feeling as the sun breaks through over the horizon. As cold as it gets, as soon as that sun rises in a clear sky you instantly warm up. Time stands still and you can’t do much but stand there and appreciate the moment.

Here’s to forever chasing that better sunrise 🌅

Arenig Fawr ⛰️

Bit of straight up straight down this morning. Time was against me due to commitments so I couldn’t stick around at the summit for first light. Managed to come away with two photos. One of the stream coming from Llyn Arenig Fawr and one of my four legged companion, Hendrix 🐾

Can we keep Autumn for just that little bit longer this year? 🍁 🍂

In all seriousness, this is without a doubt my favourite part of the year. From the deepest parts of Snowdonia to the trees on the side of the A483 through Wrexham.. it’s just beautiful colour everywhere you look.

I hope to get another two/three trips out while we have this arrange of colours so fingers crossed for some more shots like these from the past few weeks 🙏

2026 calendars 🌅 🏔️ 📸

Each photo was taken on my early morning adventures this year, capturing some of my favourite views and moments. It’s been a lot of miles, a lot of coffee, and totally worth it to see the final result.

They’re just £10 each, and they make brilliant gifts for Christmas (or a treat for yourself 😉).

I’ve only got 20 left, so send me a message if you’d like to grab one before they disappear!

This was a rewarding walk. This was my third attempt at this Circular after being hit with heavy fog twice a few weekends before it was nice to be met with clear skies and a warm, welcoming sunrise. 4 peaks were reached, Carnedd Y Filiast, Mynydd Perfedd, Elidir Fawr and Elidir Fach.
This will be getting done again. It’s such a good feeling knowing your way around Eryri, know what peaks and views you are looking at. These early morning Sundays are beyond rewarding and set you up for the rest of the day.
