Look Back In Time An experienced, independent and bespoke genealogy service based in West Sussex. If only I had asked before! Suddenly I was hooked.

Look Back In Time was established as an independent, bespoke genealogy and family tree service by myself; Mary. I am based in West Sussex and regularly travel to regional archive record offices. My work has led to research not only within the UK but as far afield as Canada and Australia. I first became interested in researching my family tree about seven years ago, when my father died. Like many o

ther people, I realised that I knew very little about my grandparents of great grandparents. I started researching and discovered many interesting ancestors, discovering where and how they lived though many hard times. Along the way I made contact with long lost relatives in Australia, who after our initial contact sent me her 'box of unknown photos' which she had inherited. I shall never forget the first picture I opened that day, which was of my father as a young child. She was delighted when I was able to send unseen photos to my cousins of their parents. From then on I started to help friends with their family research. One friend wanted to know why her grandmother was adopted, another wanted a copy of a missing birth certificate. They were both overjoyed when the missing pieces fell into place. The pleasure of finding that missing link which had been a mystery for so long is very rewarding not only to myself but to the people searching. I was then asked to complete family trees and every one was amazed at the amount of information that they received. It has now become my passion to research and find those missing characters, and bring the secrets of the past alive.

Today a small service was held at the memorial in Beach House Park to remember the warrior birds. The inscriptions on the stones unveiled in 1951 say ........ "A bird of the air shall carry the voice and that which hath wings shall tell the matter" ....... "In memory of Warrior Birds who gave their lives on active service 1939 -45 and for the use and pleasure of living birds " The memorial was funded by actress Nancy Price and members of the People's Theatre in London.
