It's tempting to give up photographing on those looong summer days...

Blue skies are often not welcomed by us photographers, we seek something beyond the lovely postcard and hanker for the cooler says with more interesting light and skies.

I was determined to make the photographic most of three days in a summer tourist hotspot on the East Coast of England. There's nothing for it... up with the lark for 3 very short but intense sessions behind the camera.

**Going Live at 18:30 tonight**

Sometimes you've just got to do it - photographing the icons in a place...

But I didn't intend to stick with this... unfortunately something happened to me during this solo girl tour to the North of England that hasn't happened before.

Join me in Whitby on what must be the busiest day of the year. I do manage to avoid the mad crowds but ... phew it was tough! But I did manage to get a couple of pleasing shots thankfully.
Whitby is fabulous and I shall return camera in hand on the off season!

A very early start yesterday over the South Downs to capture sunrise.

Only a few others peppered across the hill and the revellers awakening in the distance for the Love Supreme festival.

A cracking start to the day, a 40 minute drive home and back to bed for 6.10am!

4 from a shoot yesterday that started at 4.50 and was all over by 5.30 am. Back home for a coffee and a kip before the rest of the world woke up so it seemed.

I do like the South Downs National Park and its secrets that are unlocked by the early light.😍

A surprise heat wave, in Ireland? Could this scupper my photography? 📷

30 degree heat and wall to wall blues on the West coast of Ireland is not what I anticipated (or packed for!) So finding work arounds was the only solution - oh and ditching my thermals.

Contrary to my initial fears, it turned out I could have both photo time and a break... it did mean some horrendously early starts day after day... ugh!😁
