📷 If you’re about to start to plan your wedding, don’t make these common wedding planning mistakes!

🥂 Booking a wedding venue before having a (solid) budget.

Don’t jump into booking a venue before you have a clear idea of how much money you need to work with - otherwise, you might find that all your hard-earned cash is gone in no time!

Create a budget first; it’ll make sure everything still runs smoothly come celebration day.

🍾 Not having a realistic budget.
Knowing what to budget for your wedding can be tough, but it’s important to do some legwork!

Don’t just stick with what the big websites suggest - make sure you talk to vendors and compare prices so that you can establish realistic expectations regarding where your budget needs to go.

🪩 Taking too long to make decisions.
It’s not a myth y’all... vendors and venues book up FAST!

There are a multitude of reasons for this, but just know that if you’ve found someone (or some place) you love, don’t sleep on getting them booked for your date.

Planning your wedding can be an exciting and overwhelming experience all at the same time.

But really all of these things can be avoided by doing your research so you have some knowledge behind you when you start planning.

Hi, I am Kat! Wedding photographer, memory preserver, professional moment spotter… oh and apparently very overdue for an introduction 😅

I am the person behind J Ehlers Photography.. Quietly documenting weddings in a calm, natural, storytelling way. I am focusing on real emotions, little in between moments and all the fun stuff you might not even notice on the day!
