It’s not just the camera😭😅

Yes, having good camera equipment helps — nobody’s denying that, and I would have never got these shots if a good friend didn’t lend me their fabulous lens.
But good photography is so much more than just the gear. At the end of the day, the camera doesn’t magically create good photos on its own. Creativity, timing, composition, lighting, and knowing how to capture a moment matter way more. You can hand two people the exact same camera and get completely different results. The gear helps, but the person behind it is what actually makes the photo.

Carried by more than teammates — carried by brotherhood.

That’s what makes rugby special. A club isn’t just built by the 15 on the field, but by every player, supporter, volunteer, mate and family member who stands beside it. Everyone has their place, everyone matters, and moments like this are what make photographing rugby so special — real people, real connection, and a bond that goes far beyond the game.

Locked in. No noise, no distractions — just the game ahead. 🏉

Photography captures more than a moment; it captures the mindset behind it. Every image tells a story of focus, pressure, and passion that words sometimes can’t explain. Black and white photography brings out the raw emotion and intensity of the game in a different way. One frame, one moment, one story frozen forever.

My favourite sports portrait so far I think✨📸

A few people have asked me why I edit my photos in black and white…

I edit my photos like this because I think colour can sometimes distract from what’s really there. Without colour, people focus more on the feeling and energy of the image — the expressions, light, shadows, and emotion. To me, black and white brings out the truth in a photo and makes it feel more real, raw, and timeless.

What makes a club special isn’t just the sport — it’s the people who come together to build something bigger than themselves. Different players, different backgrounds, one shared love for the game.

Thank you to Handsworth RUFC for letting me come down to their President’s Day and take some snaps✨📸 Many more to come✨

Not every photo needs action to tell a story. Sometimes the pause says enough. The moments between the noise, the movement, and the impact can say more than the game itself ever could. A single frame can hold focus, pressure, exhaustion, determination — everything happening beneath the surface that most people never notice in real time. That’s what makes photography powerful: capturing not just what was happening, but what it felt like to be there.

A moment for ✨📸

Not every photo is technically perfect — the lighting won’t always hit just right, the focus won’t always be razor sharp, and that’s okay. For me, photography has never been about perfection. It’s about capturing a feeling, a moment, and the essence of the person in front of the lens.
This shot holds so much power, beauty, and confidence that the little imperfections fade into the background. I’m constantly learning, growing, and refining my craft — but moments like this remind me why I love photography in the first place. 🤍

It’s about time I share some of my sports portraits on here ✨📸

Here are a few shots from Essington Rugby Club’s first team training sessions. This place, and this team has something so special. They aren’t just a team on the pitch, they are a family, a brotherhood that builds each other up and keeps each other going. What a privilege it is to capture just a snapshot of their determination and love for the game, but also each other.
