🎞️ Black & White or Colour? 📸

This is something I've been thinking about a lot recently.

I've always been drawn to black and white photography. There's something about its complex simplicity that I love. By removing colour, I feel it allows the viewer to focus on what's really there—the raw emotion, the expression, the story being told. If you've followed my photography for a while, you've probably noticed that's reflected throughout my feed.

But recently, I've been challenging myself to step outside of that comfort zone.
I'm really keen to explore colour photography more and develop a style that still feels true to me. I don't just want to add colour for the sake of it—I want to learn how to use it to enhance the story in the same way black and white does.

So I'd love to hear your thoughts...

📸 Looking for 3 couples getting married this summer! 💍

Hi everyone!

My name's Emily, and I'm a local photographer looking to take the next exciting step into wedding photography.

Although I haven't been sharing my photography online for very long, photography has been a hobby and passion of mine for almost 10 years. During that time I've photographed a wide range of subjects, including rugby and, families, children, pets and studio sessions. Through all of that, I've discovered that what I enjoy most is capturing genuine emotion, real connections and the little moments that tell a story.

Now I'd love to bring that approach into wedding photography.

Although I haven't photographed a wedding before, I'm looking for 3 couples getting married over the summer who would be happy for me to photograph their day completely free of charge while I build my wedding portfolio.

What's included:
🤍 Up to 5 hours of photography coverage
🤍 Carefully edited images to download from a private online gallery
🤍 No cost at all

The only thing I ask in return is permission to use some of the photographs on my website and social media as I build my portfolio.

I've attached a selection of my work below. While these aren't wedding photographs, they reflect the style I love most—capturing authentic moments, genuine emotion and memories that people can treasure for years to come.

It’s not just the camera😭😅

Yes, having good camera equipment helps — nobody’s denying that, and I would have never got these shots if a good friend didn’t lend me their fabulous lens.
But good photography is so much more than just the gear. At the end of the day, the camera doesn’t magically create good photos on its own. Creativity, timing, composition, lighting, and knowing how to capture a moment matter way more. You can hand two people the exact same camera and get completely different results. The gear helps, but the person behind it is what actually makes the photo.

That’s what makes rugby special. A club isn’t just built by the 15 on the field, but by every player, supporter, volunteer, mate and family member who stands beside it. Everyone has their place, everyone matters, and moments like this are what make photographing rugby so special — real people, real connection, and a bond that goes far beyond the game.
