TONIGHT - EMERGENCE - Photography Exhibition opening night

Emergence showcases the work of photographers, film makers and artists in their final year at University Centre Weston emerging from their studies to make a mark in the world of photography, film and media arts

The Photography exhibition at Prior Shop in Bristol will showcase a diverse collection of projects includes documentary photography, fine art photography, publications, environmental activism,

Photography exhibition - Opening night, Thursday 16th May 6 pm-8 pm. Exhibition continues 17th- 22nd of May. 10am - 6pm, Sunday 11am - 5pm

It's the moment you have all been waiting for the public vote award winner announcement.
Please join us and give a huge congratulations to finalist Alisha Hobbs who has won the public vote award during the opening weekend of the show. We received hundreds of votes from across the weekend so this is a huge achievement to have received this recognition from the British public. A huge well done and congratulations from all of the UCW Photo Awards team.
Exhibition open until the 21st of April at the Tropicana, Weston-Super-Mare.

Wow what an evening!
Everyone here at the UCW photo awards would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that came along to our awards evening last week to help us celebrate all of the amazing photography that got entered into our awards. We would like to thank all of our nominees and winners for working with us to help bring the show to life with your amazing works of art, everyone at the Tropicana for allowing us to use the space, our photography and film lectures for assisting with the curation of the exhibition, MKPhotography for providing the photography on the night and finally our two special guests Dr Micheal Pritchard FRPS from the Royal Photographic Society and Mick Yates from PhotoFrome. All of your support for our show has been really appreciated by all of the students.
Good news folks. The connections award winners show has been extended for another 2 weeks so that it is on show during the easter half term for more to see.
Check back here tomorrow evening where we will be announcing the winner of our audience award from the opening night/ weekend visitor votes.

We are honoured to be welcoming Dr Michael Pritchard FRPS to our awards evening who will be presenting the awards for us on the evening.
Dr Michael Pritchard FRPS is the Director and the Education and Public Affairs coordinator at The Royal Photographic Society. We are honoured to be able to welcome Michael to our awards evening as we celebrate the art of photography.

It's the moment you have all been waiting for.

We are proud to announce the nominees for this year's UCW Photo Awards - Connections.

Open Call - Amy Koenig, Jessica Carrillo, Khamal Thomas, Lydia Cashmore, Morton Moss.

College's/ 6th Form - Alisha Hobbs, Roxy Barrow, Uliana Abrosimenkova.

Schools - Esme Rutter, Isabella Rutter, Minnie Edkins.

Winners will be announced on Wednesday 29th March 2023, 6pm during our awards evening.

The exhibition will also be open Thursday 30th and Friday 31st March between 10am - 10pm at The Tropicana, Marine Parade, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1BE, England.

The Exhibition will also be running alongside the UCW Creative Arts Showcase-event.

Where you have the chance to win £100, have your work exhibited in a Curated exhibition within Weston Super Mare’s The Tropicana for one week (The venue has previously been home to “The See Monster”, have your work seen and judged by industry professionals from the Royal Photographic Society and receive wide exposure through press releases.

Due to increased demand we have extended our final deadline so that more people have the chance to enter the UCW Photo Awards you now have until the 20/02/2023.

Calling all photographers we are currently accepting submissions into our International open call of the 2023 UCW photo awards. Submit your work for just £2 and you will have the chance to be crowned UCW photo awards photographer of the year, win a top cash prize of £100, have your work shown in a curated exhibition at Weston’s Tropicana previously home to the “See Monster”, have your work judged by industry professioanls from the Royal Photographic Society and receive great exposure through press articles and via a public opening night of the exhibition. We also have free to enter categories for College students and one for school aged students so the whole family can enter our awards. Good luck and we can’t wait to see your work.
