I'm Mike, a Yorkshire born and bred freelance photographer based in Leeds. My main interest in life has always been that of visual expression whether its through my love of movies, art, music, design and of course, photography. Many years experience of working within the creative industries of graphic design and advertising has seen me directing

commercial photo shoots for internationally renowned companies, so I have a natural eye for capturing the right image. Photography has always been a passion for me since I picked up my first camera when I was at school and I am a true believer that a strong image can tell a story and create emotion that sometimes the written word cannot. I feel lucky that I can make a living doing something I truly love. Always on the look out for those special images that tell a story, whether its a wedding, civil ceremony, commercial business shoot, public event or editorial piece, I always carry a camera everywhere. The sun shone brightly for Olivia and Liams wedding at the Leeds Civic Hall on Saturday.

Close friends and family celebrated with the happy couple as they tied the knot in the opulent surroundings of the Banquet Hall which provided a majestic sight for Liam as Olivia and her father Michael entered the room. Afterwards there was ample opportunity to capture yet more special memories in and around the Hall before the happy couple left for their reception in a smart chauffeur driven Range Rover accompanied with a glass of bubbly. 🥂🍾

It was an absolute pleasure to capture these memories for you both. I hope you enjoy this little preview. Many more surprises to come! 💕

WEDDING MOMENTS 💍
The Groom prep. When guys are left to get ready on their own, it can sometimes be chaotic or sometimes be surprisingly organised, but whatever happens it’s always fun. It’s usually 90% drinking, eating, laughing, banter and 10% actually getting ready, before rushing off to the ceremony. (Don’t tell the bride though). 🤣

Sadly we didn’t have the Leeds St.Patrick’s Day parade this year but this memory from 2024 is a reminder of how good it will be when it hopefully returns in 2027.
This was especially poignant, as Rugby legend Rob Burrow accompanied by his family, opened the parade, which was to be one of his final public appearances.

There’s been a definite feeling of Spring in the air over the last few days and there’s no better time to look forward and prepare for the wedding season which is nearly upon us, plus remembering some of the many weddings I shot last year including Sid and Becks wonderful day at the Leeds Civic Hall in April, who will soon be celebrating their first anniversary which is made extra special with the arrival of their daughter. Congratulations!

To date, I have used Instagram purely to share personal, documentary editorial work and event coverage which I will still do, but as I develop my wedding photography further, I will be making more wedding related content to hopefully reach a wider audience and of course look forward to capturing more precious memories for many happy couples across the region.

What could be better than complete strangers sharing your joy of your big day?

If you’re having a registry office or town hall wedding and your reception venue is within walking distance, I’m always happy to go that extra mile (that’s as far as I can walk with my gear) :) and snap you as you as you navigate the busy streets of shoppers, diners, drinkers and the occasional busker. As newlyweds Brittany and Elijah did after their ceremony at the Leeds Civic Hall last year.

These shots can really bring something different to your day as they are totally uncontrolled and completely candid as shouts of “Congratulations” come from enthusiastic well wishers, some even dance down the street with you. Real spontaneous moments to remember!
