A stunning sculpture which forms part of Aberystwyth War Memorial, Ceredigion, Wales.
Designed by Italian sculptor Mario Rutelli and unveiled in 1923, this bronze figure represents 'Humanity Emerging from the Horrors of War' at the base of the town's seafront cenotaph. Positioned facing Ceredigion Bay, the figure strains forward from a thicket of tangled bronze branches and debris, with an weathered green patina accumulated over a century of salt air and coastal storms. 1
