We are due extreme temperatures this week, so here are a few tips to keep your tropical fish safe.

❄️ Most tropical fish can handle temperatures upto 30c for short periods.

❄️ Hot water holds less oxygen, so increasing the water surface movement can help oxygenate the water. This can be done by altering the flow from your filter to splash or add a airstone.

❄️ Opening the aquarium hood or cover glass can release some trapped heat.

❄️ A fan blowing over the water surface can help drive down the temperature.

❄️ lights generate some heat, so turning them off can help to reduce temps.

❄️ Icepacks, frozen water bottles can also help to cool tanks down but need replacing every few hours.

There are not many times per year to worry about temps, just remember that most of our tropical fish come from South America,, Africa or Asia, these are not cold countries!! And often hit 36c during the dry seasons. Keep oxygen levels high and you wont have many issues.

Good morning all, happy Monday.

We have lots going on at Premier aquatics Warrington this week!

Firstly we have a LARGE fish order placed with Czech Republic, this contains all kinds of cool fish to top up our tanks, the fishroom already looks great but this will definitely fill us to the brim! This will arrive Wednesday and as usual, you will be the 1st to see the new fish via our Facebook live unboxing video! Lots of Apistogramma, killifish, corydoras, pufferfish and much, much more arriving Wednesday!

As usual we will have our Livefood delivery on Friday, this is getting more popular at Warrington so don't forget that we can take pre orders and hold your foods for you so you do not miss out!

Fish club Friday this week will be epic, all the new fish, plants and livefoods will be onsale PLUS it is auction day!!

Our monthly auction is held on the last Friday of every month and this week is the week! It starts at 6.30pm Friday 26th, and is a fantastic fun way to buy your fish! Everyone is welcome.
