Sometimes you don't need a flight to see some nice places. Put down the Skyscanner and see what's around. I don't recommend this in winter though.

Another event finished over at for Week 2: Starting at the Endz with . The day started with a workshop led by working on using words to map out locations in Sheffield. As per usual the and team did an amazing job of providing the stage and lighting that made my job of documenting the performance and Q&A with so easy. @ S1 Artspace

Watching everything come together for the opening of the residency over at was amazing! Met some amazing people in the 2 weeks I've been in Sheffield and also managed to see some amazing work. Like every city, Sheffield has its weird and wonderful side and I've had a lot of fun exploring it. Needless to say I can't wait to 📸 the upcoming events. Ps. I just finished editing the pictures from week 2 so expect more 🔥 sooner rather than later 😁 @ S1 Artspace

More late night decorations.

No long story to accompany this picture, I wanted to post them just because they are probably my favourite pictures from the whole project. If you haven't noticed by now I'm a big fan of silhouettes so these are close to being on my favourite pictures I have taken list.

Also shout out to for running the article on the space and for using my pictures. They got a whole load of content worth checking out and you can see our article over at: www.skindeepmag.com/online-articles/skin-deep-meets-the-rebel-pavilion/

Work ain't work if you're playing games.

Work on the space often ran from about 9am (although I usually didn't make it till 12pm-1pm because I take a bit of time to adjust to daylight) and ended at around 10-11pm.
I found that the longer I worked on the space, the more I wanted to create in it. There comes a deep sense of pride and accomplishment in seeing something evolve physically in front of your eyes.
After the scaffolding and wooden pallet walls were put up, we knew we were onto something, but it still felt bare. It wasn't until we managed to broker a deal with a local textile shop for some cheap cuts of fabric to decorate the space with that it felt like an exhibition space. We spent a lot of time putting up fabric that hung loosely and waved like flags in the wind from the scaffolding. But as it was dark and the lighting wasn't great from the surrounding area, we couldn't fully appreciate the work we had spent so long on.
When I got to the site the morning after, I stood back and took a moment to see the space come alive in front of my eyes.

Without no wooden pallets, there would be no walls. Without no walls, there would be no exhibition space.
The whole building process for me was a huge eye opener in terms of how generous some people can be. The guys first and third from the left came from a company called Lees Scaffolding, and the guys second and fourth from the left are Akil and Gam, the creators of the Resolve Collective and the Pavilion. When Akil and Gam first came up with the idea of the pavilion, they knew they wanted to make it out of wooden pallets to get a shanty town vibe and to have the pallets held up by scaffolding. They emailed every scaffolding company and Lees Scaffolding were the only ones who replied.
They offered to lend the scaffolding pipes FOR FREE, set up the structure FOR FREE and even offered to take it down FOR FREE. They also happened to be the nicest guys and made the entire day a breeze. They took time out of their day to help a couple of young, hopeful creatives turn a vision into reality.
To paraphrase myself that day, "Big up Lees man, the world needs more guys like Lees."

This photo series is all about teamwork.

This summer I helped build and curate an outdoor exhibition space in the middle of Brixton's St Matthews Church green for two weeks. The entire space was made from materials sourced from the local area. The wooden pallets the guys are sitting on were borrowed from Brixton Market and they served as the walls to the exhibition space.

In total the space stood and hosted events for a week, but also took a week of dedication and pure teamwork to build. The people in this picture, as well as some other very generous souls who came down and gave their time to help make the space, brought their own radical design ideas in order to show what the pavilion stood for.
The fusion of these ideas made it a place to view, listen and discuss radical ideas... hence it's name, "Rebel Space".
