FA Cup history at Roding Lane 🏆

Arthur Massingham opened the scoring, Callum Maltese added the second and Ollie Fernandez rounded off a 3–0 victory over Yaxley in stoppage time.

The result takes Buckhurst Hill into the Second Qualifying Round for the first time in the club’s history.

Kirsty Hanson marked her Spurs league debut with two goals as Tottenham beat West Ham 3–1 at Brisbane Road. Not a bad way to introduce yourself.

It was my first WSL game behind the camera too, although I think it’s fair to say that Kirsty’s debut was rather more significant than mine!

August ’26 📸

What a month that was!

There was MotoGP at Silverstone; football from the to the Enterprise National League; academy sides from Spurs and Norwich; the beginning of the women’s league season; Atlético Madrid visiting London City Lionesses; and witnessing a Ben Foakes century in the men’s county cricket.

It was also the month of my first pitchside submissions to live news agencies, while continuing to shoot for The Non-League Paper.

Plenty of miles, sunburn, insect bites, and pushing my poor old windows laptop to its absolute limits! Oh, and a few memorable moments in front of the lens too.

From 99 to 100, and eventually walking off unbeaten on 120.

Ben Foakes reached his century with a quick single before acknowledging the Chelmsford crowd. His innings helped Surrey recover from 51-4 at the start of the final day and secure a draw against Essex.

A first look at a new-look London City Lionesses side. 📸

London City rounded off their home pre-season schedule with a 1–0 win over Atlético Madrid at the CopperJax Community Stadium, Daniëlle van de Donk scoring the only goal of the game.

A pretty remarkable afternoon to photograph too, with Alexia Putellas and Mapi León among the new arrivals in action, and Mary Earps joining the pre-match warm-up.
