..secondly a rather random photo from a holiday I took 4 years ago in Dubai, but I have only just got round to post processing (holiday pics usually take a back seat to the pro stuff). This was a view from another bridge across a manmade river. As I recall, the bridge I was standing on was part of the driveway of a very swanky hotel - Ferraris and Rolls in the car park!

I waited for someone interesting to cross the bridge and struck lucky when the cyclist came into view.

I met this rather remarkable gentleman at St Pancras Station in London on Friday. I milled around him for a while taking photos before I plucked up the courage to ask if I might take his portrait, to which he readily agreed. I then asked him why he was wearing a WW1 soldier's uniform. He told me he was about to embark on a personal journey to Paris in order to walk back through France from the grave of the unknown warrior at the Arc de Triomphe to the one at Westminster Abbey in London. It was just that - a personal journey. He wasn't collecting donations for charity, though I was ready to dig in my pocket. It was just something he felt compelled to do. I shook his hand and wished him luck, but I regret not talking for longer, nor taking more photos, though perhaps this was just enough. Amazing chap and I wish him all the best.

Taken yesterday in London. Slow shutter speed shot on a wide angle lens. It is testament to the quality of the image stabiliser that the rest of the shot is sharp. LOVE this lens.

I was trying out action shots with my new camera on the South Bank. I thought I hadn't nailed THE photo because the camera only reviews the final pic in the sequence, but when I reviewed the memory card back home, I found I did get it after all. I love this guy's stance.
