Im also on first name terms with most of the local polizie now but i must add though that they've all been really friendly and just sent me on my way each time . Maybe I've just been lucky .

We are going to need a bigger boat

When construction workers stumbled across this ww2 underground factory in Germany they done a full survey to make sure the buildings above would be safe .
You can see a marking on the wall stating the water level reaches 1.9m and keeps getting deeper afterwards so further exploration for us was stumped .
I will do full posts once I'm back in the uk and trust me its worth the wait . Gas masks , eating utensils , bottles , shoes and many more items litter the floors of this amazing piece of history .

Inside the abandoned vauxhall motors air raid shelters in Luton.
With the plant being a major target and bombed on multiple occasions during World War two the workers needed a safe place for when the sirens rung .
One of the Luton air raids even happened during daylight hours with bombs falling at 4:45pm on a day in August 1940 . Hope you enjoy the photos of this forgotten place that still holds the memories of a town under the effects of war . fans Olight UK

Before this masterpiece of a fortress was built here there was a saluting platform here set with 21 guns for saluting rich people as they came to visit the plush estate .
But in 1860 tensions with france started to rise and the theatrical guns that were once just for greetings had to go . Lord palmerston saw this spot as a perfect location for one of his follies with the narrow choke point just beyond leading to the dockyard.
During 1862 and 1863 the battery was built with the most stunning brickwork casemates almost resembling a cathedral inside . Seven casemates were constructed each to hold a 68 pound cannon with magazines in the basement away from enemy fire . The battery was continously upgraded over the years until it was released by the MOD in 1946 .
During World War two massive iron rings were installed for housing the submarine nets stopping U-boats from entering the estruary and going straight to the naval dockyard .
