I had the best time photographing Arianne Exell for 'Faces of Every body', it was so much fun, taking photos in-between a huge catch up. I also had the pleasure of meeting her son, what an absolute star he is, my new bestie and new potential work colleague 😂 taking photos with a child on my hip is one of my many hidden talents 😊 I feel so lucky to photograph Arianne as part of this project, I was so happy when she messaged me, I asked her what inspired her to be part of 'Faces of Every body' and this was her reply:
I've had the absolute pleasure of shooting/working with Lucy a few times over the past 10 years and when I saw her most recent project, I just knew I had to put myself out there and get stuck back in!
Since becoming a first-time mama almost a year ago and having a complicated birth and long painful recovery, I truly lost my creative spark alongside my confidence. My anxiety worsened and I just hated who I saw staring back at me each time I walked past a mirror. I didn't want my body dysmorphia to control my life or my self-image any longer.
I saw Lucy's opportunity as a true blessing to throw myself back out there and to show the world that my body isn't just any old body, it truly tells MY story, it's my canvas and my suit of armour with my battles scars in all their glory.
I have no self shame with my body any more, this is my journey of self love and healing, it's truly my time to shine and be the best version of myself to inspire others out there who have been through similar experiences, and if some people don't like that, then they simply don't have to look.
I 🫶🏼 me! xoxo
