We could not think of a more gorgeous couples' getaway in Scotland than this. 🏴
Meet The Resting House and Hodge Cairn, two bespoke shepherd's huts tucked into a woodland strip on the Crookston House estate in the Scottish Borders, and they are genuinely something special.
Here's what makes them different. There's no vehicular access. No roads. No noise. Just you, the valley, and views stretching out over the Gala Water and the Moorfoot Hills from your private veranda. Every evening the sky turns golden and on a clear night, some guests have even spotted the Northern Lights. 🌌
The huts themselves? Built with real craft. Hodge Cairn has a Scandi feel with a king-sized bed made from beech grown on the estate, a stargazing roof window, and a rainfall shower bigger than most houses. The Resting House goes full cosy-chalet, reclaimed wood walls, dreamy hillside views from the bed, and an outdoor wood-fired bath under the open sky.
Outside: a firepit with a cooking arm for al fresco dinners, a wood-burning stove for rainy nights in, and a covered veranda so the Scottish weather never ruins your plans.
Hosts Georgie and Malcolm thought of everything. You just show up, breathe out, and stop.
