🖤 Immortalise your heart horse’s soul. Hello, I'm Flo.

Covering the UK and Worldwide! Serving private clients and businesses. I am a Staffordshire based Equine Portrait Photographer covering the entire United Kingdom. I produce dramatic, punchy, edgy, and moody images of the horse.

In my early-teens I realised a way of observing my beloved horse - Cracker. Photographing him taught me to capture moments that filled me with sheer joy. Not only did he

teach me to 'be' around horses; he taught me their very essence, their gregarious nature, and the intelligence of their souls. I don't just photograph what we see on the outside of the horse, I capture their heart, mind, and their character. This is why I started my business.

I want to share with people how horses make me feel.

I want to capture how they make YOU feel, because I understand this through every fibre of my being. I work on a commission basis; producing beautiful photographic portraits of our equine friends, for you to proudly display in your home. Please get in touch so we can discuss your ideas!

One of my favourite things about photoshoots is watching people arrive convinced they’re “just an average equestrian.”

As if I haven’t heard that exact sentence approximately 500 times.

They turn up in their EQUIDRY , apologise for their hair, tell me they’re awkward, tell me their horse won’t behave, and that they never look good in photos.

Then an hour later they’re standing in a custom hand dyed gown, looking like they’ve waltzed out of a fantasy book with their horse.

This blue dress is actually part of my client wardrobe! She started life as a designer wedding dress 🙈💙.

You don’t need to own a wardrobe full of dramatic outfits. You don’t need modelling experience.

And you absolutely don’t need to be one of those people who takes hundreds of selfies and knows their angles.

You just need to bring your horse and I’ll handle the rest 😉

So you REALLY want an equine photoshoot, but feel like you can’t afford it? Totally normal.

I’ve written a full blog post about the money side of booking a photoshoot, because this is THE biggest thing I see stopping people.

Spending money on yourself as a horse owner feels WEIRD. And the economy right now is tight af 😭

In this post blog, I talk about:
✨ the guilt around spending money on yourself
✨ why photography is a luxury, but not pointless
✨ what my clients usually spend
✨ how to save £400 to £800 over 6 months
✨ my £150 deposit
✨ instalments and booking ahead
✨ selling tack, savings pots, gift ideas, and trades
✨ and why cheap photographers are not the same as a fully planned, high end equine portrait experience

It may be a wee but sassy for some, but that’s literally my brand hehe.

I don’t want anyone putting themselves under financial stress for a photoshoot.

BUT I also don’t want you writing it off forever because you feel guilty for wanting something beautiful with your horse.

Full blog is now live!👇🏻

SCOTLAND AVAILABILITY 👀🐴

I’m heading up to Scotland in August for a number of client equine photoshoots and I’ve got space for 1 or 2 more on 20th August around the Perth / Stirling area.

I’m based in Staffordshire, so my usual Scotland travel fee alone is around £280…

But because I’m already up there and travel has been split, it will only £55 travel fee for this date 🔥

So if you’ve been waiting for me to come north, this is your chance!

Please share or tag a Scottish horseperson who needs bold, cinematic equine portraits!

Not every image needs to be pin sharp to work.

At my “Legends of the North” equine photography workshop with in Scotland, I encouraged everyone to play with shutter drag.

The aim, for me, isn’t to get the horse perfectly crisp.

It’s the movement, the blur, the drama, the imperfection I’m after!

The feeling that the whole image is slightly slipping through your fingers.

I usually create drama in my portrait photoshoots with styling, wind, light, armour, gowns and all that jazz. But this is another way of doing it!

These remind me a little of old black and white fashion editorials, something about blur makes an image feel less polished, but somehow more alive..

Sometimes it’s good to stop trying to control every inch of an image, and that’s often when it gets really interesting.

I added a touch of dehaze and film grain because I wanted these to feel like they’d been found in an old magazine archive.

Love it or hate it? 👀

I have wasted far too much time worrying if something was “good enough” to post. Good enough for who?

The people who aren’t making anything? The people who judge everything but risk nothing? The random girl from school who still watches my stories but never likes anything?

Please.

Post the work.

Post the messy bit . Post the finished piece. Post the weird idea.
Post the thing you’re proud of even if you’re terrified people will think you’re up yourself.

The work sitting in your camera roll is doing absolutely nothing for you.

…And the right people can’t love what they never see.

Someone will judge it.

BUT someone else will book it 💅🏻
