Continuing from my earlier post:
Admittedly, a lot of my imagery is shot in my studio space, but studio lighting can travel, and being able to deploy a fully usable studio in the sense of lighting is the definition of control. Taking the time to sketch the set up, build it, meter the lighting and quite literally capture what’s in your imagination is such an accomplishment.
Creativity can be one sided in terms of what is being brought out of the moment, especially if time is a premium, but collaborative discussing of ideas and having some of your own to bring to the table is essential. Be a creative but also be a listener.

Anyone that knows me will be aware of my passion for music and live shows - and obviously photography.
Creating promotional imagery for bands and their brand is also a huge part of what I do.
Whether you are a local act starting out or an established act touring, creating imagery that can show more than just the faces of the players, it can create a visual identity.
Below are a few images that have been created for that very intention.

Happy Alien Day to all that celebrate.
Tato decided that this year was the year that he would pop into the studio and fully support and approve today’s photoshoot.
Alien was released the year I was born and was a staple movie that would be watched on VHS most mornings before school.
There was something soothing about the pace and flow of this cinematic masterpiece that made it a perfect escape from the school experience.
This shoot was the first time in nearly two years in which I have created for myself. Shocking considering my profession and hobby are both photography, but creative burnout is real and I have been suffering from it.
Days come where the sheer volume of mental load is too much, the edit pile is unending and the desire to create something meaningful is ever present but just out of reach.
I don’t know when this became a reality but it did, and I know I am not alone.
So if you are finding moving forward hard, or getting stuck in mental rut, it’s ok. It won’t last.
