Sometimes a shoot goes so well, it seems nothing will stop the images working.

These were taken during a break in Belinda's confidence-booster shoot. She is an awesome musician and as soon as she started playing I knew I had to capture it.

What is it you find most rewarding with photography?

Since I’ve known Belinda she’s always been a beacon of positivity - a bubbly, larger than life character guaranteed to make you smile.

Recently though she’s been through the wars to say the least, with a chronic illness amongst other things robbing her of her confidence and a leaving a distinct lack of self-love.

After a long series of chats we met up in the studio so I could show her what others can see, that she has lost sight of.

The ultimate reward came from the messages I received from Belinda after I’d sent her the images; hearing someone who a few days earlier was saying they had no confidence, now saying they couldn’t wait for the world to see the images I’d created of her.

That certainly put the biggest grin on this photographers face 😁

A quick before and after, (with a closer look at the same shot) that was anything but quick.

Unfortunately for my good friend , when you're asked to take a wedding portrait somewhere as prestigious as St Paul's Cathedral they don't actually close it to visitors, so tourists are free to stand in the background. And they do. Constantly.

Despite him taking a mass of shots there was almost no clean data to be had through the walkway behind. So he asked me to see what I could do with it. 10% of the missing data I could piece together from other shots, the other 90% had to be created in any way I could muster.

Last night was the regional ceremony at the

Despite getting stuck on the M25 for 1.5 hours I made it just in time, and you could say I am rather glad I did 😁

Anyone struggling to access my website, unfortunately this is down to a technical issue with the hosting company SiteGround

Although I have emailed my affected clients directly, Siteground didn't see fit to make such a move instead thinking that an announcement via a social media post is "professional communication" with their clients, so it's taken me a little longer to get to the root of the problem.

My apologies, hopefully they are better at fixing problems than they are at keeping their clients informed of the situation.

Did you know that I was a photo retoucher long before I became a photographer? It seems very few knew that. Maybe I should actually post what I do more on social media...!

I recently had a visit from the amazing Rachael Thomas for some shots. (https://www.instagram.com/rachaelthomass/)

It also proved an ideal opportunity to flex the retouching skills, as her looks were far more suited to a paradise beach than inside a studio in wet miserable UK. So I did.

One thing I get asked repeatedly as a photographer. "Can you photoshop me so that...". Despite the power of photoshop being known by nearly everyone, images viewed online still form major aspirations, people want to present themselves equally as flawlessly. You don't even need to be photoshop literate anymore, filters stuffed into every device in our daily life. So the answer is yes. I can.

But that doesn’t mean it should be done, and you definitely shouldn’t aspire to it in real life.

It doesn't have to be you that changes either, it can be anything in a digital image.

It's damaging to a great many so it bears repeating that what you're looking at online isn't real
life, it's the creators dream.

Don't aspire to it, be your true self.

From E-comm to overlay to advertising... A few shots recently completed for (the very tasty!) Daviun Vodka Brand.

I was given a totally open brief on this project, so I got to play around a bit more and have some fun, which always makes a pleasant change!
