How do you go about preparing your little people for a photoshoot, especially when you know they are happiest moving at 100 miles an hour?

My main advice is to describe our time together as an adventure to your little ones, try to step away from the phrase “photoshoot”. Instead, let’s go on a bear hunt together, search for treasures by the edge of the river, and let your little people take the lead on where we end up.

My sole aim on a session with you is to capture connection and emotion. I’ll encourage play, wildness and authenticity in the photoshoot, so that our time together just feels like quality time and core memories being made.

I promise even if your little one’s default setting is lightning speed, I will capture those small details for you. The fleeting in between moments, light touches of a cheek, kisses after a tumble, fingertips through wisps of hair.

Magic will unfold if your children are allowed to take the lead in a session, all you need to do is show up, be yourselves, let go of any pressure or expectations and let all of your beautiful selves shine through.

Details of springtime on the moors with Shannan, Jamie and their little B.

Documenting their transition into parenthood on a warm spring evening amidst the bluebells felt the perfect way to honour this special moment in time for their family unit.

Shannan and Jamie wanted to wait until B was a few months old before booking in for their session, as they wished to allow time for some of his personality to start emerging. To witness his chatty babbling and way his face lit up at the sight of either of their faces, the wait was so, so worth it!

If you’re ever worried about missing the perfect time to get your newborn photos, don’t be, as every stage brings its own unique joy and will be a stage that you will always be grateful you captured.

Warm, summer days and evenings in the wildflowers will soon be upon us. I’m excitedly looking forward to a summer of meadow sessions, but also aware of how fast time is flying and that we will be welcoming another babe into the mix soon after!

Along the South West Coast path, with roar of waves and sea birds, this session was a celebration of F&B’s love story, their engagement and the shared adventurous spirit that draws them to one another for a life time.

The slow paced moments in those early months of motherhood, where time is spent absorbing every ounce of them, shifting into your new found sense of self, those stand still moments with them on your chest. All of this alongside the conflict of chores that need doing, the pull of pre-motherhood expectations of achieving something tangible to show for each day.

This is a reminder that you are doing enough, showing up, growing them, growing you, being all they need. Nothing else is required of you in this season of life. You are enough. For them, you are everything.

This session with and her beautiful boys had me nostalgic for an era where evenings on bikes in the street, climbing walls and train spotting formed the essence of childhood. Long form sessions give us permission to leave phones at home, push pause on the faced paced distractions of the every day, and truly live in the moment with your loved ones.

We also ventured into the woods for hours of river exploration and fun, but I’ll leave that for a later post!

My beautiful friend asked me to capture the rawness of this phase of motherhood, through bleary eyed nights of meeting the needs of two small humans, where juggling both babes upon her hip and soothing each simultaneously is a quiet superpower she now possesses.

We decided to capture these in my attic at home, wanting an at home meets studio vibe to what we created. Kelly, through this evolving sense of self, new found purpose and all encompasing love captured through the details of how this unfolds on a daily basis ✨️.
