Still recovering from breaking my ankle back in early February but slowly getting there - Saturday was the first day I've managed to really do things without experiencing too much pain, still plenty of swelling in my calf/ankle though.
Had a lovely little day out to the (photos to follow) and on the way home to a little detour to Cerne Abbas as we were in the area and I'd never seen it before - walking up the hill wasn't an option for me but did get a few photos from the viewpoint.

Well that was a surprise yesterday afternoon, flying over the house...
flight published plan showed them as passing near to my home in the morning but then ended up swinging slightly further south to cross the old airfield at Westonzoyland (which I thought made more sense anyway) so I thought that was that.
Then, about quarter past 5, I was stood in the kitchen and heard a distinctive roar overhead - first thought was it can't be the Spitfire because that's due to be flying along the south coast and into Exeter but instantly recognised the sound and that silhouette so grabbed the camera and headed into the garden - realised it was circling so looked at FlightRadar to see if i could judge where in the sky it might pass back over us to line up the shot - then saw the second aircraft coming in meet up with it, followed by the sound of a second engine.

When your wife tells you to come and have a look at the salt flake she just found in the pot of salt you know its time to grab the macro lens from your kit bag!!

Another shot from Ham Hill Country Park.
Loved how the light was breaking through the mist and spent most of the walk looking for the right photo - I'd almost given up as we headed for a coffee until I spotted this lone tree on the ridge.

A short stroll this afternoon around Ham Hill in the mist as I try and get back into my photography for 2026.
2025 has involved nowhere near enough photography and thats something I intend to change in the year ahead - I also want to go further afield rather than the same, safe photography spots i always seem to find myself heading back to.
So, watch this space - more photography incoming!!

I've been making the 5am drive up to Bristol on at least 1 morning of the (unless the weather looked hopeless) for the past 10 years now and its rare that the wind is in the right direction for them to drift across the city but this morning was one of those mornings and it really is a stunning site!!!

I think it's safe to say this guy won the best view of Bristol Balloon Fiesta's mass ascent this morning!!
