Everyone's talking about the Three Lions...

So I thought I'd share mine. 🦁📷

These weren't taken on an African safari, but they still remind me why I love photography.

Every animal has its own personality.

One quietly watching.

One making direct eye contact.

One completely relaxed.

Three different moments.

Three different stories.

Photography isn't always about chasing the rarest subject.

Sometimes it's about recognising the personality that's already there.

I don't think photography has made me better at taking pictures.

I think it's made me better at noticing things.

This wasn't a planned shoot.

I was walking to pick someone up when the evening sky stopped me in my tracks.

Most people probably carried on walking.

I reached for my phone.

Sometimes that's all photography is...

Not expensive equipment.

Not the perfect location.

Just taking a few seconds to appreciate something that won't look the same a minute later.

One thing I've realised is that I don't really go looking for photographs.

I notice them.

This wasn't planned.

I happened to see the Moon drifting towards a power station chimney in Slough and thought, "That could make an interesting image."

A few moments later, it was exactly where I'd imagined it.

I think that's what keeps me picking up a camera.

Not chasing famous landmarks or perfect sunsets...

Just noticing moments that are easy to walk past.

Photography has changed the way I look at the world.

Not because the world has changed...

But because I have.

A reminder that the smallest subjects can tell the biggest stories.
This bumblebee, surrounded by spring blossom, is part of a process that supports entire ecosystems. A moment that lasted only seconds, captured through the lens.

Photography continues to teach me the value of observation, patience, and appreciating the details that often go unnoticed.

Captured deep in the night sky, this is NGC 1499, also known as the California Nebula — a vast emission nebula glowing with hydrogen, stretching over 100 light-years across.
It’s incredible how much detail hides in the darkness until you start stacking light and time 🌌
Astrophotography really shows how small we are — and how beautiful the universe can be.

🌌 M31 – The Andromeda Galaxy
First Attempt at Deep-Sky Astrophotography
This is my first ever attempt at capturing M31 (Andromeda) — our nearest major galactic neighbour, around 2.5 million light-years away.
Every point of light in this image is a star, and beyond them lie entire galaxies. Astrophotography is both humbling and addictive, and I’m excited to keep learning and improving.

A look deep into the night sky ✨
This image captures The Pleiades (Seven Sisters) — a beautiful open star cluster glowing in cool blue light, around 440 light-years away.
These young stars are surrounded by faint reflection nebulae, giving them that soft, misty appearance against the darkness of space. It’s always incredible knowing how far this light has travelled to reach us.

Capturing this level of detail is always a challenge, but moments like this make it all worth it.
