It’s hard to post pictures of yourself when you don’t like having your photo taken. It’s harder to put yourself in a vulnerable position of taking them yourself first.

After watching, listening and talking to other photographers i encountered a running theme. “The key to understanding and photographing other people is to first learn how to understand and photograph yourself” especially if you don’t like being in front of the camera.
I tried to capture the essence of me and the different moods I can find myself in within a typical week.

1. The everyday me, the person you would see on the regular.
2. The Me that struggles to get out of bed in the morning.
3. The Me that finds myself riddled with stress and anxiety.
4. The Me that will try his best to make you laugh if you’re having a bad day.
5. The Me that’s had far too much coffee, full of beans and a little crazy.
6. The Me that just wants to kick back and relax.

Had a great time shooting CoachToms the other week with Ted Lamb.
This guy was inspirational, the strength in Toms is just incredible, physically and mentally. We spent some time talking about fitness, wellness and wellbeing and it’s safe to say, he knows what he’s talking about, I highly recommend him as a coach.

Product Review

I was given the opportunity by Saal Digital UK to create and order one of their Professional line or XT (Extra Thick) professional line photo books worth £100. As you can see by the short product cinematic, I took that opportunity and I wasn’t disappointed. Creating the photo book wasn’t too difficult, you start by downloading their Adobe Cloud based design software which, if you’re used to using adobe products, you’ll pick up with relative ease, if you’re not used to this it may be a bit more difficult to pick up, but understanding your way around won’t take long. These photo books are completely custom and the price adds up with how many pages you choose / design etc. I chose to go with a 32 page XT Pro Line photo book, reasoning for this? I LOVE the feel of the Extra Thick pages, this also has a real durability benefit as it can be kept for a lifetime without creasing or bending any of the pages. I also chose to go with a matte photo finish as I feel that the reduce in glare from light really helps you to see the images in their full glory. The colours of the prints are so true to the originals I was amazed. I also chose a plain Faux leather backing, this was one of the more expensive options but worth it for the look and feel that I wanted to go for. You are able to customise each page with text overlays, multiple pictures with whatever aspect ratio you desire. The plus that sells this book for me is its ability to lay completely flat being able to show long panoramic shots without an overly noticeable or distracting seam. Great product for professional portfolios and even wedding albums. I highly recommend this product.
