This season the ladies have scored some absolutely amazing goals and I’ve managed to choose 12 of the ones I think are worth a shot of being declared the
Best Goal of this season.

Unfortunately it’s not as good as the match of the day as I take pictures not videos 🤣🤣 but I’ve described the goals as best as I could to give you an idea.

Leave a comment with your top 3 and help get these goals the recognition they deserve.

The Ladies headed to Skelton United to play their final game of the season.

Having been to DeBrus school as a kid it was a little wired heading back to what is now a housing estate, however the sports hall and football fields still remain 🤣🤣

The Ladies were on a 7 game unbeaten run heading into the final game with knowing another win would cement a 3rd place finish in the league.

The game started a little bit scrappy with the pitch being narrow a lot of game was tightly congested with very few attempts made towards goal.
It was a great through ball from midfield which Emma managed to run onto and find the net.

Skelton grew into the game themselves and had a few great chances themselves only to be denied by some great saves from Dani

Half Time saw town go in 1 vs 0 and knowing that scoring a 2nd would hopefully start to calm the game down,
The second half began and Skelton continued to frustrate Richmond by stifling the midfield.
It took a long range effort where Jess took the balm in her own half and shot towards goal, catching the keeper off guard she was left stranded as the ball dipped below the crossbar and into the net, 2 vs 0
Anna soon made it 3 vs 0 with a great run into the box and firing in a low shot under the keeper.

Skelton managed to get 1 back in the latter stages of the 2nd half when a loose ball from a
Cross into the box was poked home from
Close range despite the efforts of the Richmond defense to clear it off the line.
Soon after the final whistle was blown for the last time this season.

A huge congratulations to everyone who has played their part in this amazing Richmond Side.

This 8 game unbeaten run has been so well deserved and you all have shown up every weekend and given everything for each other, it’s not always been easy and you have had to dig deep and find that extra effort to get you through tough periods, the resilience to give in and succeed has been your strength this year and the biggest success.

Finally I’d just like to say that it’s been a real pleasure to witness your amazing season and capture some moments on camera.

Here to a well earned break and to build on what you’ve learnt as a team for next season.

On a Sunny but cold evening at Earls Orchard Richmond Town Ladies welcomed Catterick Village Roses to play their return fixture from a couple of weeks ago.
With the Town Ladies coming out on top at the away game 7 vs 3

Hoping to continue their fantastic run of results with 5 wins from 5 Richmond Ladies needed to dig deep to make it 6 from 6 and dealing with a derby game with only 10 players on the pitch for 60minutes of the game due to injuries and player availability.

The game kicked off in some spring sunshine with the Earls pitch looking fantastic thanks to the relentless efforts of the groundsman.

Richmond Ladies took a while to find their rhythm in the match with only starting with 10 players it was Catterick who made the extra player count with a few early chances on goal but to be denied by some good defense and goalkeeping.
The breakthrough came from a looping cross which Cora Squirewas in the right place at the right time to through herself at the ball to make contact and send the ball goal-wards.
The rest of the first half continued to be a very even contest with both sides winning midfield battles and creating chances at either end.

Richmond’s 2nd came from a wonderful strike by Olivia Giblin who was roughly 30yrds out struck the ball which looped over the Catterick goalkeeper and hit the back of the net, just before the half time whistle.

The 2nd half started and as the sun began to drop below the trees so did the temperature 🥶 the girls managed to keep the tempo up and kept attacking the Catterick Roses goal but some loose shots and we’ll positioned goalkeeping meaning the frustration began to set in with a few of the ladies,
It was a great solo run from midfield which Saw Anna take on the keeper and slot it home for Richmond’s 3rd.
After lots of chances Jessica Johnson was able to add Richmond’s 4th which after a great shot and save saw the ball slowly head to the goal but some great inventive skill saw Jess manage to back heel the ball into the goal to the dismay of the diving keeper.

A great win by the ladies and a superb effort from every one on the pitch everyone played their roles amazingly.

On to a tough fixture on Sunday which sees Richmond travel to York to take on 5th place York Railway

Game 24 of the season saw the Richmond Ladies return to action on a Sunday for the first time in over a month having just the one mid week fixture in that time against Catterick Roses away which the ladies kept their unbeaten run going with a 3 vs 7 win.

Basking in the Spring sunshine at Earls Orchard the pitch looked in fantastic condition even with 4games being played in it this week. Hats off to the Groundsman Chris who’s got it looking amazing once again.

As expected the ladies started the game off a little slow with having so little game time but soon they were on their way with a great ball played through from midfield for Emma to run onto and finish into the top corner of the net. Richmond started to take control with a good number of chances created but for some good goalkeeping from the stand in Malton Goalkeeper and some latch ditch defending kept the score line at 1 vs 0 until a great solo run by Jess saw her through on goal with only the keeper to beat she calmly slotted her shot to the right of the keeper to make it 2 vs 0.
Old Malton kept going and started to get into the game with a few attacks on the Richmond goal. From a Malton attack saw Richmond play some fantastic football moving the ball through all areas where a pass from Faith Andrew’s found Jess who managed to feed a great ball for Emma to run onto to slot home the Ladies 3rd of the half.

The 2nd half started as the 1st had finished with a lot of battling for possession in midfield with some great runs down the wings.
A loose ball breaking from the Malton defense saw Faith come in off her wing and strike the ball from just outside the 18yrd box and curled it into the top right hand corner where the keeper could only stand and watch as the ball went past 4 vs 0.
Emma managed to complete her hat-trick with a shot from a tight angle saw the keeper parry it into her own net 5 vs 0
Old Malton struck back with a fine effort which came from a loose ball over the top of the Richmond defense to make it 5 vs 1
Richmond so hot back and with a fine run from Emma saw her shot saved by the keeper but for the ball to land at the feet of Charlotte who was there to put the loose ball into the empty net.

Great start back once again another win for the Ladies who have a derby game against Catterick Roses on Thursday at Earls Orchard.

Also I will be running The Northallerton 10K as my alias Mr Hearty ❤️🤣

Today saw the Richmond Town Ladies travel to the King George Stadium to take on 2nd in the table Guisborough Town Ladies,
Having narrowly missed out on a share of the points in the return fixture, the town ladies were up gor evening the score.

The game started off with a bit of a midfield battle with neither side getting a hold of the game for the first 10minutes a few chances fell to the Richmond strikers but some good goalkeeping kept the scores level, it was a loose ball forward which saw the Guisborough strikers capitalize and broke the deadlock on 15minutes. Town rallied and saw themse settle into the game and start to show composior on the ball and making the right passes. A fantastic strike from Emma in the 18 yard box saw her shot parried into the net by the Guisborough goalkeeper as it seemed too powerfull to stop.

Richmond continued to grow into the game and finally took the lead when Debutant Step Box wriggled free from her opponent and found the top right corner of the net on the stroke of half time.

The 2nd half was a little more of a midfield challenge for possession with both sides creating chances but some great goalkeeping and defensive effort from both sides saw a stalemate with no goals being scored.

A great performance from every player wearing a Richmond Shirt today they absolutely left everything on the pitch a true testament to the team in how well they have developed and continued to perform week in week out.
That was the ladies last Sunday fixture for a month as the teams below play catch up with fixtures.

Richmond’s next fixture sees the ladies travel the short distance to Catterick Roses for 2 x floodlight midweek fixtures both Away and Home.

Well played Town
