I stared at this photo inside a charity shop today for a long time. I thought about how special this dog must have been to someone and how the last remaining trace or memory of it exists here, physically in this print. I can't describe why this simple photograph made me feel something, Barthes describes this feeling as Punctum. "The punctum of a photograph is that accident which pricks me (but also bruises me, is poignant to me)."
I couldn't leave it in the shop, to potentially be lost to landfill.
