Today I needed to get something done using some notes I’d written a few months ago about new accounting software.

Simple, right?

Except I have SEVEN notebooks on the go.

So naturally, I spent far too long flipping through all of them…

Then convinced myself there must be a mystery eighth notebook somewhere in the studio 🙃

Got distracted reading old ideas, questioned January me, harshly judged January me. Gave up.

Picked up a notebook I was certain it wasn’t in… opened it on the bookmarked page…And there they were. The notes. From January. Looking all organised and helpful.

Great! Still had time, winning.

Opened the software. Read the notes.

…what on earth was I talking about?? 😐

At that point, I made an executive decision:

It’s Friday.

The sun is shining.

I’m swerving the task and going into the garden 🌿

BUT here’s the point…

This is exactly what happens in business when everything lives in too many places.

Ideas everywhere.

Notes everywhere.

Plans that made total sense at the time… and zero sense later.

It’s not that you’re disorganised.

It’s that there’s no clear system to come back to.

(And yes, I’m saying this as someone with seven notebooks 😅)

So if you’re trying to show up online, stay visible, or build your brand—and it all feels a bit chaotic…

It might not be you.

It might just be your version of seven notebooks.

Now if you need me, I’ll be outside pretending this never happened ☀️

I’m not here to present just one version of my work.

For International Women’s Day, I want you to see the full picture of what I stand for.

Through Branding with Personality, I help women show up confidently in business and career spaces.
Through my bo***ir and body confidence work, I help women remember they are allowed to feel powerful, beautiful, and unapologetically themselves in their own skin.

Both things are connected.

Because visibility isn’t just about business.
It’s about how women are allowed to exist in the world at all.

The message of International Women’s Day, supported by UN Women, is still clear — women deserve rights, respect, safety, and opportunity. But we also deserve to feel powerful in spaces where we are often told to be smaller.

So yes — I photograph women in suits.
And yes — I photograph women in lingerie.
Because confidence doesn’t have a dress code.

To every woman who has ever been told to be quieter, softer, or less visible:
This is your reminder that you are allowed to be both professional and powerful, soft and bold, businesswoman and body confident.

Take up space. All of it.

She almost quit her career.

Instead, she rediscovered her confidence.

Meet Zoe Carroll — anxiety coach, neurodivergent advocate and absolute powerhouse when it comes to helping people feel less broken and more capable.

Zoe works with people struggling with overwhelm, trauma and anxiety — helping them process what’s underneath the stress so they can move forward with resilience.

When she came for her branding shoot, she didn’t want stiff or corporate.

She wanted personality. Energy. Realness.

We captured her mid-laugh, mid-movement — including one very playful bannister moment that sums her up perfectly.

This is what branding should do:
Reflect the real you.
So your clients feel safe before they even speak to you.

One of the hardest things about running a service-based business is trying to explain what you do.

You can’t put it on a shelf.
You can’t photograph the transformation.
You can’t always sum it up in one sentence.

So people are left thinking, “Okay… but what does she actually do?” and this is why showing up matters so much.

Because even if someone doesn’t fully understand your process, they can instantly feel:

If you’re confident.
If you’re experienced.
If you’re trustworthy.
If you’re someone they’d want to work with.

Images do that faster than words ever will.

When you consistently show up — properly, strategically — you remove that invisible barrier.

You stop being “someone I follow” and become “someone I’d book.”

If you’re building a service-based business and still hiding behind graphics, this is your reminder.

People don’t just buy services, they buy into the person delivering them, and they need to see YOU.

So this is me, doing exactly what I'm telling you to do. Because it matters.

Can I ask you something?

When did you last update the photos on your website?

Not your logo, not your colours. You.

Because I see this a lot with women in service-based businesses…

Your experience, pricing and confidence have grown. But your photos?
Still from 3 years ago.
Still slightly awkward.
Still playing it safe.

And here’s what most people don’t realise:

People don’t read websites properly.

They scan.
They feel.

We process images 60,000 times faster than text.

So before anyone has read about your offers, they’ve already decided whether you feel established.

If your photos don’t reflect the level you’re at now, your business quietly feels smaller than it actually is.

It’s not about vanity.

It’s about alignment and connection.

If you’ve evolved, your imagery should too.

FAQ: “Do I really need branding photos if I’m not a big business?”

Short answer: you don’t need to be big — you need to be recognisable.

People work with people they feel comfortable with.

Good branding photos help someone:
📸 recognise you instantly

📸 feel like they already know you

📸trust you before they ever message

They’re not about being flashy or everywhere.
They’re about saying “this is me” — clearly and confidently.
Visibility doesn’t have to mean shouting.
It means showing up in a way that feels like you. That’s where confidence starts.

If you run a service-based business, hiding is expensive.

When you sell a service — coaching, consulting, therapy, strategy, design, VA work — people aren’t just buying what you do, they’re buying into you.

Your thinking, energy, presence, leadership. If they can’t see you properly they hesitate.

I run a service based business myself and have realised that service-based businesses are harder to understand than product businesses.

You can’t hold what you do.
You can’t photograph the “transformation.”
You can’t put it in a box.

So your visibility becomes the bridge, and we process images 60,000 times faster than text.

Before someone reads your services, scrolsl your testimonials or checks your pricing they’ve already formed an impression based on what they see.

Strong, strategic imagery makes your business feel established.

Hiding behind graphics or outdated headshots makes it feel smaller than it is.

Showing up isn’t about ego. It’s about clarity, which builds trust and turns into bookings.

If you’re building a service-based business and still avoiding being visible — this is your nudge.

Your audience needs to see who they’re investing in.

After such a lovely response to the first Better Brand Photos With Your Phone workshop, I’m running it again!

Here’s what one attendee said afterwards:

“It was honestly such a brilliant, confidence-boosting morning. I loved that it was practical, easy to understand, and designed for real business owners — not photographers. You leave with photos you can use immediately, a handy guide to remind you of everything covered, and most importantly… the confidence to show up online.”

If you’re a small business owner who wants better brand photos — but doesn’t want complicated tech, fancy kit, or to feel overwhelmed — this workshop is designed for you.

It’s:
• Practical and hands-on
• Small and supportive
• Focused on real-life business needs
• Designed to build confidence, not perfection
