‘Turbulent’

The beautifully eerie Crowns Engine Houses at Botallack mine in Cornwall are something that I’ve wanted to see for a long time. Luckily, my wife and I spent our honeymoon in Cornwall so we were able to stop off one morning to check it out.

It was an extremely windy day so and I were cautious not to get blown out to sea as we took the short, steep walk down the path from the car park. But the risk was worth it because I was able to get this awesome shot!

'Dam! What a nice view!'

Derwent dam is so cool! I took this photo just after heavy rainfall and this really helped bring out the vibrant greens in the trees that are framing this awesome, medieval-looking dam.

I'm looking forward to going back when the water level is higher because you can see the water cascading over the dam. I reckon that will make for a really cool long exposure.

I haven't posted for ages! I've been so caught up in my new job, as a property photographer, that I've not really been able to get out and do some landscapes! Normally this would make me sad but I'm thoroughly enjoying the new job. Swings and roundabouts I guess? That being said, I've settled into more of a routine now and am starting to free up some weekend time to get back out into the countryside with my camera!

Last week I ventured to Ladybower Reservoir, in the Peak District, with a goal to make my way up to the top of Derwent Edge and take some photos of a really cool rock formation called "Salt Cellar". With this being England, the weather obviously didn't do what I wanted it to do and by the time I got to the top it started pouring down with rain....typical. I still had a great time being out in the Peaks and managed to grab this photo looking back towards Ladybower. I love the moody sky and the national trust sign!

'Grindon All Saints'

It was so good to get back to the Peak District this week! My journey took me through the beautiful village of Grindon and there was no way I couldn't take a photo of this gorgeous old church! I love how it's framed but the trees and moss covered wall!

'Birthday Buddy'

So today is my birthday. I'm now officially a quarter of a century old! Its been a bit of a weird one because it's the first birthday I've had since my Grandma (who's birthday was today too) passed away. Rest in peace my birthday buddy.

'Burning Through'

I don't know why Thieves Wood get more fog than most places but I'm not complaining!

I love this photo, the leading line of the path and the way the silver birch frames it makes for a very interesting composition. Then add in the fog and we have a real corker here!

NEW VLOG! 😊

Hi guys, hope you're all doing fantastic! This week I was a bit lazy. I decided to sleep in because the conditions didn't turn out as I expected. When I finally dragged my butt out of bed and went for my daily walk, I realised that I should have gone out with my camera so I pegged it back home, grabbed my equipment and went out on a landscape photography adventure!
