The new exhibition at The New Art Gallery Walsall is quite something.
The depth and variety through the different artists, and their stories and approaches is quite fascinating to take in.

Definitely head down and check this out - it’s on until June.

Now open: The World that Belongs to Us. The exhibition includes a multi-layered installation by Chila Kumari Singh Burman bringing together a powerful series of self-portraits called 'Body Weapons'. These are characteristic of her early and unapologetic concerns with feminism, identity, popular culture and the use of self-portraiture as a tool for empowerment and self-determination.

Catch 'Happenstance', an exhibition of newly commissioned oil paintings by artist Annette Pugh. Her work explores traces of human presence in the landscape and the often-emotional connection we have with unpopulated places such as remote lakesides, private ponds or the hidden crevices of public gardens.

Just finished the entrepreneurial challenge at free at last having captured, edited and presented eight films for the young people.

Working alongside the mentors and the teachers to create and capture their visions has been amazing once again, and the kids are truly inspiring.

Thank you for asking me to be involved John - not sure if it counts but there were times that it felt like a challenge 🤣🤣

Loved capturing this fabulous exhibition at The New Art Gallery Walsall last week.

Honestly, you don’t want to miss this. The more you spend time in the space, you more you appreciate what it’s about.

There’s also a great resource video with the artist Karla Black playing on the mezzanine level of the gallery which gives you a great insight into Karla and her approach.
