Trent Valley Aviation Society

Trent Valley Aviation Society TVAS is a small friendly, East Midlands based aviation society that meets at Diseworth Village Hall every 3rd Monday evening in the month between 1930-2230.

Membership is £15 per year or £3 per meeting (first meeting free). All photographs are copyright.

Just a note of thanks to STEFAN STRELUK for a brilliant presentation on Monday night featuring a wide variety of aircraft types seen at OSHKOSH 2024.
The standard and quality of the images was superb along with the video clips too, especially the fireworks.
Blessed with good weather made for even better photos.
Surprised you didn't shoot the woman in the pink hat !!!!

An update on forthcoming TVAS meetings, all held in Diseworth Village Hall (1/2 mile south of EMA) on the 3rd Monday of each month. Plenty of free car parking.
Doors open 19:15pm for a 19:45pm start.
Non-members welcome - £3 a meeting or £15 for the year.

Drinks available on the night -
Tea/coffee/o.juice 60p, Sodas 70p (Cokes - reg/diet/caff.free, Fanta, 7UP, Pepsi Max) & Ginger Beer 70p.

Why not come along a try a meeting if you're not a member and see if its for you - we're a small friendly Society and would very much welcome new members.

Trent Valley Aviation Society is a small group of like-minded people local to EMA. We meet once a month on the third Monday evening at 19:30 at Diseworth Village Hall which is located just half a mile south of the airport. Meetings usually start around 19:45 and finish around 22:15 and there’s free car parking at the Hall.
Meeting subjects are varied and attendance is usually only around 15 from the 20+ members we currently have.
Tea, coffee (60p) and sodas (70p) are available between 1930-1945 and at ‘half time’.
Why not come along to a meeting and see if it’s of interest to you. The first meeting is free of charge then it’s either £3 a meeting or £15 for the annual membership.
Annual membership also includes quarterly newsletters (email), access to the annual photo competition, annual Xmas buffet and quiz and AGM.
Our annual BBQ at the Aeropark is usually held in June or July (small extra charge).

As promised, here are the winners of this year’s Trent Valley Aviation Society Photographic Competition.

There were four categories:
1. The Viscount Trophy for best slide never seen before (18 entries).
2. The Chris Farmer Shield for best digital military photograph taken in 2025 (24 entries).
3. The Civil Digital Shield for best digital civil photograph taken in 2025 (52 entries).
4. The Len Taft Shield for best digital photograph, civil or military, taken in the local area Notts/Derbys/Leics/Lincs/Rutland/Staffs/Warwks (32 entries).

The winners were:
1. STEFAN STRELUK – Concorde 002 G-AXDN, taken at the 1974 Farnborough Air Show
2. STEFAN STRELUK – B29 Superfortress N69972, taken at Reading Regional Airport in June 2025
3. STEFAN STRELUK – P51C Mustang N5528N, taken at Reading Regional Airport in June 2025
4. CHRIS BYRNE – Typhoon FGR4 ZJ913, taken at RAF Coningsby in May 2024

Congratulations to our winners and entrants, especially Stefan for taking three categories, for some superb photo’s and a thoroughly enjoyable evening’s entertainment. The standard was as always very high and it was very hard to pick winners.

TVAS is a small friendly aviation society (20+ members) that meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at Diseworth Village Hall just 1/2 mile south of EMA.
We hold meetings that include slide presentations, talks, a christmas buffet and quiz, video nights etc. Drinks are available at half time - tea/coffee 60p, sodas 70p
We'd be delighted to see you and hope you would become a member. Your first night is free of charge, then £3 a night or £15 for the year.
The christmas buffet and quiz in December, photo competition in January and BBQ in the summer are all members only.
