More views giving a bad impression is less valuable than less views giving a good impression

Let’s say Gym A puts out a piece of content and it gets 5,000 views, great right? But it doesn’t make the gym look desirable, it doesn’t offer great value, and isn’t clear about what it offers

Now Gym B gets 2,500 views on a piece of content, it looks professional, shows the gym off properly, it’s useful to the viewer and it makes it easy to take the next step to becoming a member

9/10 times Gym B is going to convert more people into paying members, because while visibility is absolutely a metric you want to increase, it means nothing if it doesn’t convert into actual business

And then if you can achieve both, you’re winning 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve been enjoying supporting and the amazing work they do in my own little way - this short interview was particularly surreal as it took me back to where I once worked many moons ago… British Pepper & Spice

The smell walking in there took me right back to operating line 1 🤣🤣

Home-Start in West Northamptonshire is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age - if you can do anything at all to support them please have a look at their website and see how you can get involved!

Beyond the people who already know you and support you, the rest of the world doesn’t care until you give them a reason to

Every business can and should be providing quality, useful/interesting/creative content to raise their ceiling.

Telling stories, being creative, being different, sharing expertise, looking professional and so on can take you from a small local business to one that has a much wider scope of opportunity and reach

Serious businesses look like serious businesses, not makeshift content creators 📱

Somewhere along the way looking and feeling professional has been ditched and replaced by iPhones, terrible footage/editing, AI, and a usually a “POV:…”

Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely a place for it, but not for serious businesses as an entire strategy

People will make a judgement of you before they speak to you, or see a piece of content before they know you even exist, so why as a professional & serious business would you leave the impression that you’re anything less?

Your web & social content is an extension of your business, it should show people the same level of care, quality and professionalism that they can expect when they actually work with you

The saying goes ‘you have to spend money to make money’

The good news is: the amount you need to spend to look professional online has decreased significantly over time because the right people (me being one) have found a way to make businesses look high-quality without the need for a production team’s budget.

The bad news is: that saying is still true.
