Somewhere along the way, between the Munros we’ve climbed, the trails we’ve followed and the corners of Scotland we’ve discovered, Aslan has become such a big part of how I experience this place. 🥾🤎

We recently made our way up another Munro, and it was one of those days that left us tired in the very best way. Long hours outside, beautiful views, changing weather and my favourite adventure companion by my side.

I think days like this are also a little glimpse into the kind of world I love bringing into my photography. I’m drawn to the way dogs can belong in a landscape, whether they’re running through it, exploring it or simply stopping for a photograph with the person they share it with.

There’s something about seeing a dog surrounded by a place this vast that I never seem to get tired of.

And knowing there are still so many mountains out there waiting for us makes me so excited for what comes next. ⛰️🤎

Aslan was, of course, wearing his Alpine Paws harness in beautiful Russet Red, which we absolutely love on him. 🤎 We also took the Mocha Brown water bottle along for the first time, and it was such a useful upgrade for a longer day in the hills.

We’ve just returned from a beautiful little adventure that left us with so many lovely memories, and although I haven’t had the chance to share much from it yet, I thought it was finally time to bring you a few photos. 🤎

Do you know what made it even more special for me? There was already that first little feeling of autumn in the air. I won’t deny it, this is one of my favourite times of year, and I’m already looking forward to being back out in nature with my little boy, surrounded by those beautiful colours and that softer autumn light. 🍂

Aslan finally got to properly put his Alpine Paws harness to the test too, and it couldn’t have done a better job. He really does give everything a proper workout: running, exploring, playing, swimming… nothing is ever off limits when he’s around. 😂🤎

And when it was time to slow down for a while, his Alpine Paws woven blanket was there for a well-earned rest. 🔋

There’s still so much more I’d love to share from this adventure, including where we went and some of the moments we captured along the way. I can’t wait to bring you more of it soon. ⛰️📷

A few more glimpses of Icarus, this beautiful, clever and incredibly gentle soul. 🤍

I’ve been a little quieter over the past few days while we were away on our own little adventure, so there hasn’t been quite as much happening here. But some photos deserve their moment, and I couldn’t let these ones pass by without sharing them.

Meet Icarus, one of the sweetest souls I’ve ever met. 🤍

Icarus and his owner travelled all the way from Edinburgh to Isle of Whithorn by public transport for this session. That’s quite a journey, and I was already so grateful that they were willing to come all this way.

The days before the session weren’t the easiest for me, as I had something unexpected come up that I had to sort out, and it made everything around the shoot a little more complicated than planned.

But then I met Icarus and his owner. His owner was incredibly kind and understanding, and Icarus was honestly one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. It really wasn’t hard to see where he got it from. 🤍

After everything that had been going on, meeting two such lovely souls made this session feel even more special to me.

A little thought beyond photography. 📷🤎

Sometimes I wonder if we're so busy searching for the next place to be, the next goal to reach, or the next thing to do, that we forget to notice what is already right in front of us.

An evening by the sea. A quiet sunset. The sound of the waves. Watching Aslan run freely while we simply stand there and take it all in.

There's something incredibly calming about moments like these. They don't ask for anything, they don't need to be extraordinary, and yet they often stay with us the longest.

Maybe that's the beauty of simplicity. Not that it's perfect, but that it gently reminds us how little it can take to feel truly present. 🤎
