Could it be someone who's not afraid to hang out the door of a moving car (yes, I’ve done that), to capture the perfect shot? Yet, still knows when it's appropriate to melt into the background. Hi, I’m Mandy, I’m an enthusiastic and fun-loving family and child photographer based in Richmond North Yorkshire. I’m lucky to be really, Passionate about what I do. Having been an enthusiastic amateur photographer for decades, it was a pretty significant mid-life-crisis a few years ago which saw me change careers and to back to school to complete my BA, (Hons), Degree in Photography. And to be honest, I’ve not looked back since. If you check my Instagram you can see my diverse portfolio, with everything from environmental photography in remote rural Bulgaria to formal and informal family portraits. For me, it’s really all about the process, from the initial meeting, sitting with a cuppa and finding out who you are and the ‘look and feel’ you’re trying to capture through the consultation process. Once we’re shooting, I make it my mission to put people at ease, encourage them to open up and not just capture the best possible images, but have you genuinely enjoyed the process! A Few Facts About Me:
I worked in the care sector for 20-years and enjoyed every minute, (well most of it!)
I graduated two weeks before my 50th birthday. I have been married to my first husband for 21 years, this is primarily because I haven’t met number two yet! (This is the standing joke in our house!) We have five great kids, three are grown, so it’s only my 13-year old twin boys left at home, as you can imagine- they keep me on my toes. We have an aging English Bulldog-fur-baby. He’s currently five-stone and entering his old man years, with various grunts and grumbles and he does smell a little, but I wouldn’t change him for the world! I’m by no means a sports fan, however I’ve been team photographer for Ripon Rugby Team for three years now. Although I’m usually stood in the cold, wet and even snow; I genuinely love every minute of it and I’ve met some life-long friends. I’m a proud Oxfam volunteer and I organise seasonal photoshoots for Oxfam in Darlington where I also volunteer once a week. What else can I say? I love a curry and a roast dinner, country walks and nature… oh, and my family, I’d better not forget them!
