I have spent a lot of time with this Little Owl family this year, as I do most years and watched them successfully raise two healthy owlets, unfortunately the third didn't make it, I think due to the heatwaves when they began to fledge the nest!

This year I was given access to the field 🙏 which I am so grateful for, and spent many hours sweating in my hide to get a different perspective of these beautiful birds and it has honestly made my year. Having watched these owls for several years it definitely made it special for me.

Word seems to have got out about this particular location, so I just hope that they are successful and undisturbed for years to come as it has always been my happy place to go.

The first highlight of my birthday trip to Hawes, was spotting this Woodcock in the woodland on the way in.

My first photograph of one of these, beautifully well camouflaged birds. Which was very obliging for 5 minutes. A really nice surprise 🤎

I booked the Haweswater Badger hide on the 30th June, just for the experience really, and we took little Poppy with us to see her first ever badgers. Along with our good friend Brian Daniels. It is a lovely experience and we saw, I think three individual badgers throughout the evening, but I found it quite difficult photography wise, due to light and the closeness of the badgers, still a great day/evening had by all Darren Yeti Tierney ☺️
