A very wet Friday over the Moors lead us to Pickering and a quick coffee and cake stop at the NYMR. Lucky for me, it just so happened that S15 825 was pulling in.

With October Half Term upon us I decided to take the kids to The National Railway Museum In York for the day. The locomotives were looking as stunning as ever and with the Museum being quieter than usual it gave me a great opportunity to sneak a few photo's.

A quiet afternoon and a quest to find some conkers took us to Guisborough Forest. We didn't find any conkers but I did manage a few cheeky snaps.

A trip to Herrington Country Park for a bit of family time and a picnic was planned for today. Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball and we were cut short, However I did manage to get a few shots in before the heavens opened.
The grey skies gave a moody backdrop to the view of Penshaw Monument and the local population of Mute Swans were happy to come close looking for food.
Some of the benches in the park have very artistic stone and iron work. They all seem to be individual pieces and fit in well with the park's other sculptures.

Wynyard Woodland Park is on the site of a disused railway line. Its long straight paths stretch for miles and are a safe haven for wildlife. The trail starts at a small disused village station which as you can see still has its signs and seats along with the platform. The old waiting room is now a small tea room.

I was disappointed with the lack of wildflowers however the bridge architecture is amazing and the wind felled tree half way around were excellent substitutes.

This was my first experience of using a DSLR camera and You can really tell the difference!

A visit to the local RSPB Nature reserve for some fresh air after a week of poor weather at the end of August was a wonderful opportunity to catch the last of the summer/start of Autumn. Unfortunately the birds were not in a photogenic mood, however insects and wildflowers were more than happy to pose for some beautiful shots.

A family trip to Whitby on a calm January day helped trigger my Photography bug. The weather and conditions were perfect and due tot he time of year the town was quieter than usual. All the below were taken with an Iphone 8 (hence the poor quality)... Something I hope to correct now I am using a DSLR.
