Back to reality after the summer holidays… and finally finding my routine again (coffee is helping a lot ☕😂). I’ve been catching up on edits from a fabulous 21st — can’t wait to get those up on Instagram soon, along with some behind-the-scenes sneaks 👀.

I’ve also been lucky enough to capture some energetic, fun-filled dance classes with Sarah at Big Bums Little Bums 💃✨ (honestly, the energy was amazing — can’t wait to share more from that with you all!).

And tonight… it’s time to swap the laptop for the lens (and maybe a bit of boogeying on the dance floor) at a 40th birthday celebration 🎉.

So grateful for all the support as I get back into the swing of things — so many lovely moments to share with you all soon 📸💕.

Taking a quick breather (and inhaling a strong cuppa ☕️) before launching myself into what’s shaping up to be an absolutely non-stop weekend of camera-wielding madness — and honestly? I’m oddly excited in a “remind me to drink water and charge my batteries” kind of way 😂

Back in the TA routine this week — the alarm’s back on, the kids are full of beans, and I’ve already said “shoes on, please!” roughly 342 times.🤭✨🫧🫶🏼

But no time to ease back in gently — this weekend is set to be a busy one:

📍 Friday – Melton Marvels Presentation Night: Celebrating our amazing adult netballers and the juniors — a feel-good evening of proud moments, shiny awards, and me floating around trying to catch all the emotion, smiles, and (let’s be honest) probably a few happy tears.☺️

🎩 Saturday – Black-tie 21st birthday bash: Full glam, party vibes, and guests maybe one glass too far into the night asking me to take “just one more” photo — and then another. I’ll be snapping dance moves, group hugs, and probably someone trying to sneak behind the camera for a go.🪩

🌸 Sunday – Easing into an 80th birthday garden party: Classic British vibes with bunting, cake, and generations of family all in one frame. Hoping for decent weather and not me huddled under a tree mid-scone.🍰

Then we roll straight into the new week with the fabulous Sarah from Big Bums Little Bums — her adult dance classes are a proper giggle, full of energy, loud music, and the kind of moves that make your thighs scream but your soul sing. Sarah is just fab and somehow manages to get everyone moving, even on a Monday.🕺🏼

So yes — full-on. But this is the kind of chaos I live for. Real people, real joy, and the kind of moments that deserve to be remembered (even if they’re a bit blurry by the end of the night 🥂).

The beauty of photography is freezing these tiny glimpses of connection – they tell bigger stories than any wide shot ever could. This one instantly gave me UP vibes 🥹🎈… a gentle reminder that love, adventure, and companionship don’t have an expiry date.❤️

Melton Car Fair magic ✨

This day was such a dream – the sun was out, the atmosphere was buzzing, and everywhere you turned there were stories told through chrome, curves, and colour. I loved capturing these classic details – from the gleam of polished paintwork to the little moments between car lovers sharing their passion.🚘❤️⭐️🫧

There’s something about events like this that’s so photogenic – the perfect blend of natural light, reflections bouncing off bodywork, and candid conversations unfolding in the frame. Honestly, I could’ve shot here all day 🤭.

Sunshine, soundcheck, and a whole lot of soul 🎶☀️

Katie Rose was in her element and the lens was loving every second. This shot came during one of those in-between moments—mid-verse, eyes closed, fully lost in the music (and yes, the light was showing off again).⭐️

I switched to a tighter focal length for this one to really pull into the emotion—the texture of her voice, the glint of those sunglasses, the way her necklace caught the sun just right… little details that say everything. Shooting wide open here gave that lovely shallow depth that makes the background melt and lets her presence take centre stage 🎤❤️

It’s always such a joy when the light, the artist, and the energy all line up like this—simple setup, natural light, big vibes.🪩

✨⚽ Nothing beats the energy of a charity match! From the first whistle to the last sprint, the pitch was full of passion, teamwork, and a whole lot of determination.⭐️

As a photographer, games like this are all about anticipating the moment before it happens — tracking movement, adjusting shutter speed to freeze the action, and letting the light tell its own story. I love playing with depth of field to keep the focus on the players while still capturing the atmosphere of the crowd and the goal behind them.📸☺️

This frame was all about timing: catching that split second where the ball, stride, and expression all align. Those little details are what make sports photography so much fun — it’s fast-paced, unpredictable, and incredibly rewarding.🫶🏼🫧
