Nothing like an old school mini photographed in a fine art way!
Keeping its vintage look and style that today’s mini just doesn’t and I don’t think will ever !

I may be wrong but if I’m honest there’s NOT a lot of new cars that will stand the test of time like the cars of 30-40 even 50+ years ago do in today’s car enthusiasts eyes

There’s something about these old cars even though they don’t stand up to the speeds of the cars of today they still have a look that many enthusiast will stand and admire and chat about for hours and I know these cars will still be being talked about long after I leave the planet..

There’s something quietly electric about photographing a European Starling—especially when the light hits just right and reveals that hidden constellation of detail most people walk straight past.
This frame, The Star in Starling, is all about that moment. From a photographer’s perspective, this is where patience meets precision. You wait, you watch, and then—just for a heartbeat—the bird turns, the feathers catch the light, and suddenly you’ve got texture, colour, and character all singing together.
Ileaned into a shallow depth of field here to isolate the subject, letting that creamy background fall away into pure softness. It’s a classic wildlife photography technique, but when executed right, it never gets old.
The real magic, though, is in those iridescent feathers
—subtle blues, purples, and speckled whites that almost feel painted on. This is why I always say: don’t underestimate the everyday species. There’s beauty hiding in plain sight if you slow down enough to see it.
From a technical standpoint, sharpness was key. Fast shutter, steady hand, and a touch of controlled contrast in post to bring out those feather layers without overcooking the image. It’s that balance between realism and artistic interpretation that I’m always chasing.
But beyond the settings and technique, this shot is a reminder—wildlife photography isn’t just about exotic locations or rare sightings. Sometimes it’s about mastering your craft in your own backyard.
If this image made you pause for even a second, then job done.

Been asked if I want to do a collaboration / publication with docu magazine.. with 20 image !! As a special addition publication.. with just my finest images in..

It’s not a cheap magazine it’s more like a soft cover book I get them at cost price to sell to those who would want to buy one .. as they won’t be cheap to purchase so don’t know if people would buy it …

so I don’t know if I should or should do it ! There isn’t a stipulation of purchasing they will do all the work with creating the product I just have to sign & sell them… to make something from it .. don’t know !

What’s your take on it ?

A quiet moment captured where light, mist, and composition work together to slow the eye. I framed this scene to let the winding path act as a natural lead-in, drawing you gently toward the softened willow trees beyond. The diffused light and muted tones were intentional, reducing contrast to create a painterly, fine art feel. Subtle texture in the grass and foliage adds depth without distraction, allowing atmosphere to take priority over detail. Artistically, this image speaks about stillness, transition, and solitude—a walk not just through nature, but through thought, memory, and calmNess

Took this image last year and there was smoke still lingering from a small fire that some young lads had set ablaze and not fully put out ! Luckily had some bottled water with me so put it out but think the smoke really helped give this image a little atmosphere!
It’s these little things that make photography into something a little more creative ! Even without trying to!
Could you see this in a deep old looking frame with a vintage look ! I think it could be a great fine art print !
