All churches are old that we visit but this one really stood out to us. All be it 14th century it almost certainly stands on a hill that previous churches would have stood on before it..

The church yard to the rear of the church was empty with only a few graves & the church itself gave an ancient feel, if only it could talk & tell us what it had seen over the years..

Newark Castle has been standing in Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire, England for over 900 years.

Once a Norman palace, it played a key role in the British Civil Wars in the 1600’s..

Fascinating grave this that resides at Somerleyton Church in Lowestoft in Suffolk..

James Duffield husband of Harriett died 1877 aged 51, then Kate Duffield died 1940 aged 68 so who was she to James, his daughter? If so she was only 5 years old when he died… 😮 Then finally Harriett died out living her husband James & Kate until later in 1940 at the grand old age of 93!
