First post in a long time and it’s clearly not a very seasonal one 😌
I’m not going to claim to be back (I might’ve done that before) or that I’ve made a new year’s resolution to post regularly again, but I would like my photo mojo to reacquaint itself with me in 2023 and to help me add to my gallery through the year.
If you’ve even noticed I’ve been absent, the only thing I’m sorry about is the number of your wonderful images I’ve failed to appreciate. I definitely have no regrets about ‘missing out’, or for avoiding the relentless pressure of posting, comparison and keeping up that social media participation can create and I definitely won’t be experiencing any of that in the new year.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2023 when it arrives.

So sad to hear of the passing of one of our finest and best-loved actors. After Blackadder and long before Hagrid, I avidly watched every episode of Cracker. I loved the end-plate picture of Robbie Coltraine so much that I paused the video player on that frame and made my own pencil drawing. It survives to this day and I particularly remember revising for professional exams by pacing the room and delivering lectures on finance and business to Mr Coltraine himself, then hanging on my wall. A patient listener and never a word of criticism was uttered - too busy savouring that ever-lasting cigarette, I guess.

He’ll be much missed.

Vøringsfossen waterfall under a brooding sky. This is the third highest waterfall in Norway, with a 163m single drop down into the Måbødalen valley below.
Taken on a recent trip over the Hardangervidda during which I found neither the light nor the weather to produce the photos I wanted, leaving me with yet another reason why I need to return to this most beautiful of countries🤞😌.
