My life didn’t seem to get bigger despite doing all sorts to occupy my time. Then I discovered what's been missing from it.

Just look at the way the ketapang tree shades the Grab delivery rider and the sleeping worker from the hot sun.

Our beautiful hometown is being battered by the monsoon. It’s high time to rethink a better flood prevention strategy to deal with a new climate challenge.

Monsoon rain arrived hard this year. Many are now stranded at the north of Malaysia and the south of Thailand. The chaos below however, looks serene from a great distance.

Our autumn holiday in London was filled with long contemplative walks in with friends. Nature is the best medicine for the soul.

October is one of my favourite months. The leaves turned gold and red to preserve energy; a reminder for us to reflect and change our routines. In the tropical path of the world, the colder season translates to the wet monsoon period.

This is a great time to do a simple mindful photography exercise: observing little changes in nature. Take your cameras out and enjoy your surroundings.

“Although I miss my roses in London, I haven’t considered growing them in Perak. My gardening practice is about living in the present and I want to understand the plants that are growing around me.

I was never lonely in the garden because there were a pair of bulbul birds that kept following me around. I think they must’ve imprinted on me when they were young chicks. They’re not our pets, but we accepted them and never chase them away.“

Meditation on Nest.
