A few weeks ago I had the privilege of filming a funeral at the beautiful Henley woodland Burial Grounds in Henley-on-Thames.

On an amazingly hot summer’s day, surrounded by open countryside and the peaceful natural setting of the burial ground, family and friends gathered for a very personal ceremony led beautifully by the celebrant.

My brief for this funeral was a little different. The family didn’t want a traditional recording of the complete service or the original audio. Instead, they asked me to create a short cinematic funeral film — a carefully edited collection of moments from the day, set to music and brought together through visual storytelling.

For this style of funeral videography, I concentrate on the details that tell the story without words: the surroundings before everyone arrives, flowers and personal touches, people gathering, quiet interactions between family and friends, the ceremony itself and the landscape surrounding the burial.

The finished film will be relatively short, but that’s very much the intention. It’s about capturing the feeling and atmosphere of the day, rather than documenting every minute of it.

Natural burial grounds lend themselves particularly beautifully to this kind of cinematic storytelling. There’s something incredibly peaceful about a farewell taking place outdoors, surrounded by trees, fields and countryside.

Every family wants something slightly different from funeral videography, and that’s why I always listen to what they actually want their finished film to be.

It was a privilege to be trusted to capture this one.

Yesterday I had the privilege of supporting a beautiful Celebration of Life service in Little Venice, Westminster, for a family.

More than 100 family members and friends gathered together in the family’s garden to celebrate a life well lived. For this service, I provided the live streaming, along with all of the audio visual equipment throughout the ceremony, ensuring that everyone present could clearly see and hear every tribute, while also allowing loved ones who couldn’t attend in person to be part of the day online.

This was a service that required a great deal of planning, so everything was installed and tested the evening before to ensure the day ran seamlessly.

It was also a memorable couple of days personally. The previous day I had been live streaming a funeral at a beautiful cliff-top church in Cornwall before driving straight to Westminster to prepare for this service.

A special mention to Rosalie Kuyvenhoven | Celebrant | London, UK, Worldwide , who led the ceremony so beautifully. Her warmth, compassion and professionalism helped create a truly fitting tribute, and it was a pleasure to work alongside her.

Every funeral and celebration of life is unique, and it’s always an honour to help families preserve these important moments and connect loved ones, wherever they are in the world.

From the rugged Cornish coastline to the heart of Central London… all in one day.

This morning began at a beautiful Church of England church perched high on the cliffs of Cornwall, where I had the privilege of providing a professional funeral live stream. The setting was breathtaking, overlooking the sea, and it was an honour to help connect family and friends who couldn’t be there in person.

As soon as the service had finished and everything was packed away, it was time to begin the 260-mile journey to Central London.

Tomorrow brings something completely different — a Hindu funeral taking place in a private garden, where I’ll be providing the live streaming, TV screens, audio visual equipment, and complete media coverage throughout the day.

It’s one of the things I love most about this profession. No two days are ever the same. One day I’m filming in a quiet country church overlooking the sea, the next I’m supporting a family in the middle of one of the world’s busiest cities. Different faiths, different traditions, different locations — but always the same commitment to helping families preserve precious memories and ensuring loved ones, wherever they are in the world, can be part of saying goodbye.

Every family has their own story, and it’s a privilege to help tell it.

St Etheldreda’s Church in Ely today — a beautiful, intimate little church with a really warm feel to it.

Because it’s a smaller space, I set up two cameras discreetly from the balcony, which let me cover the whole service properly without ever intruding on the family or the congregation. The minister and the lectern were both miked up, so everyone watching from home heard every word crystal clear.

That’s the thing about smaller churches — it takes a bit more thought to stay out of the way, but done right, no one in the room notices you’re there at all, and the people who couldn’t be there still feel part of it.

Wherever your loved one’s service is being held — church, graveside, crematorium or somewhere that simply meant something to them — I can live stream it so no one has to miss it, wherever they are in the world.

A few days ago, I had the privilege of filming the funeral of a baby girl at Islington & St Pancras Cemetery.

As a funeral videographer, there are some services that stay with you long after the cameras have been packed away. This was one of them.

My role was to create a film of the day for family and loved ones who were unable to attend in person. Before everyone arrived, I spent time capturing the setting, the details, and aerial footage of the cemetery to help provide context for those watching later. These moments help tell the story of the day and allow distant family members to feel more connected to what took place.

Standing quietly behind the camera, it was impossible not to be moved by the love surrounding this little girl. Her life was far too short, but the impact she had on those around her was clear to see.

It was a privilege to support this wonderful family and help preserve the memories of the precious moments they shared with their daughter. Creating these films is never simply about recording events; it’s about ensuring that important memories, emotions, and tributes can be revisited and shared with those who couldn’t be there.

Thank you to the family for trusting me to document such a personal and important farewell.

One of those services that reminds you why this work matters so much.

Editing this funeral which took place at St Michael at the North Gate in Oxford a few weeks ago. A beautiful Church of England service covered with a three-camera setup. Two 4k cameras on the main floor and one on the balcony giving a sweeping perspective across the whole church.

With the minister’s permission, I also flew my drone inside the church 🚁 — gliding down the full length of the nave to capture the interior as an opening shot from above. A perspective most people never get to see.

Working alongside the brilliant Lucy at made the whole day feel exactly as it should — calm, dignified and completely focused on the family. Always a privilege to work with such a caring and professional team.

Yesterday I had the privilege of providing live streaming and AV support for the celebration of life of Richard Chance — held at the London Rowing Club on Putney Embankment, right on the banks of the Thames. 🌊

It was a beautiful service. A minister led the room, and throughout the afternoon friends and family stepped forward to share readings, personal tributes, live music and singing. There was laughter — genuine, full, fond laughter at stories only the people who knew Richard could tell. There were tears. And there was an extraordinary warmth that filled that room on the river while London went about its afternoon outside the windows, entirely unaware.

But the moment that none of us in that room will ever forget happened when one of Richard's closest friends sent a message from the summit of Mount Everest. 🏔️

He wasn't there because he was up there. He had climbed Everest on Richard's behalf — because Richard had told him to go ahead and still do it, even after his passing. So he did. And from 8,849 metres above sea level, the highest point on earth, he paid tribute to his friend in front of everyone gathered to remember him.

In over 2,500 funerals and celebrations of life, I have never experienced a moment quite like it.

That viewer data tells its own story about the kind of man he was and the reach of his life.

I arrived four hours before the service to set up the full live stream, provide AV support for the live keyboard player, and help the family connect their tribute visuals to the venue's PA and screen system. By the time guests arrived, everything was in place and the family had nothing to think about but Richard.

The tide was coming in outside. The room was full of music and love and the voice of a man on top of the world saying goodbye to his friend.

Richard — what a life. What a send-off. 🕊️

Yesterday's funeral live stream in Ely, Cambridgeshire was a technical challenge that shows exactly why professional equipment and preparation matter.

The church had thick stone walls, lead-lined windows, and almost no mobile signal in the surrounding countryside — the kind of venue where a standard internet connection would drop within minutes.

Using our bonded 4G/5G setup with four simultaneous internet connections, we maintained a stable, uninterrupted stream throughout the entire service. Family and friends across the world stayed connected from start to finish.

The church was also quite dark inside, but our low-light cameras handled it without issue, capturing every moment with clarity and detail.

Audio was prioritised just as much as the picture: the minister was microphoned, the Bluetooth speaker was microphoned for hymns and music, and the lectern where family members spoke from was also microphoned — ensuring every word, reading, and tribute came through clearly for online viewers.

The stream was picked up by 71 devices across 5 countries:
🇰🇪 Kenya (Nairobi) — 38 viewers
🇬🇧 United Kingdom — 22 viewers
🇻🇬 Virgin Islands — 4 viewers
🇺🇸 United States (Washington) — 4 viewers
🇮🇹 Italy (Tuscany) — 3 viewers

When the venue is challenging, the technology has to work harder. That's what we're here for.
