RIP Lola, Slovenia’s greatest catbassador and Kosmo Foto’s ever-vigilant logistics manager. No consignment of film, bag of t-shirts or box of cameras could enter Kosmo Foto HQ without a thorough inspection.

I apologise to anyone with a cat allergy who bought anything from me since 2017. She’d often worm her way into boxes while I was still opening them.

The open internet that Kosmo Foto flourished in as little as a few years ago is under assault by gate-keeping Big Tech platforms that try to keep your eyeballs firmly in their walled gardens. Google is the worst of them.

Kosmo Foto isn't dying, but its traffic has halved in the past couple of years as Google reduces the amount of referrals and instead uses articles on blogs like mine to fuel its AI answers. Half the traffic means half the income from ads which pays for the all the subscriptions and plug-ins that keep the site ticking along. (I know we're all sick of ads, but they do allow blogs like mine to pay their bills and keep the content free to read.)

A camera this limited shouldn’t be this much fun - but it is.
The Hanimex 35 HS is focus-free, has no flash, a single shutter speed and weather symbols to change the aperture. It is a delight to shoot and a no brainer if you want a super-cheap compact.
These were taken on expired Tudor 200 in Spring.
